hi, just fitted a new apexi turbo timer, works good ang looks great. the problem is due to having a cliford alarm fitted i cant set it untill the timer has done its job then it unlocks the doors when engine is turnt off, some one told me that a relay can be fitted so the the alarm is full functional while on countdown. has anyone fitted a relay to overcome this problem before? any help would be great.

thanks

The feature of the alarm unlocking the doors when the turbo timer has done its bit can be programmed to be switched off.

I am going down the route of seperate alarm(without immobiliser), seperate immobiliser (CAT 1/2) and turbo timer. I have had the same problems as you have had on yours. It is very frustrating. You may be able to have a delay built into your clifford so it arms 30seconds later or so. The immobiliser in your clifford is the problem.

Hope that helps.

if your alarm cuts the fuel supply upon imobilisation then you can end up with a problem if the turbo timer is still running... it is like pulling the fuse for the fuel whilst the engine runs. the pump stop dead, but the injectors will still keep injecting. you can then have problems when restarting the engine.

in my opinion, get rid of the clifford and get something else. cliffords are known to be troublesome. they are overly complicated for what they do. very expensive and us guys in the industry know that they nearly all go wrong within 18 months. 90% of the companies in thius country have stopped fitting them because they cannot afford to keep repairing the things and pi**ing off their customers.

cat1 is alarm and imobiliser

cat2 is imobiliser only

if you have either cat1 or 2, then fitting a turbo timer will render their thatcham approval void.

p.s. i am a fully v.s.i.b. certified alarm installation engineer for car/motorcycle/LCV.
