Yea I drove it last night, absolutely bonkers!!

Can't wait to get it home....!

Mind you, gonna have to go through a tank of petrol before it even gets on my drive though! It's from Poole and I'm travelling from near Peterborough!

Found this too:

The 3rd gen 3sge, consisted of different

cams, larger valves, a variable length intake manifold with a step effect were the manifold meets the head, in order to enhance the swirl characteristics of the intake charge.The headers were of larger diameter but shorter length, to aid top end power.

Power was up about 12kw at 129kw(173hp)@7000rpm

(previously 117kw(157hp)@6500rpm).The difference on the road wasn't that noticeable over the previous gen 3sge till at least 5200rpm were the acoustic control system did its jig and openened the second intake track to take advantage of the new engine's mods.In late '95 the compression was lowered back to 10:1 in order to meet the new emission standards and as a result the power came back to 125kw(167hp)@7000rpm .

oh god i hat u lot now...seems my rev one is a load of pants realy isnt it compaired with a rev 3...bummer..mite have to get down the bank for another loan...

m8 i've got a rev1 n/a, can't really be jelous of that can you, lol. Gonna be a rev3 black top within the year tho (least i hope it is!) :D

hey !! I own a rev1... I wouldn't say it's a load of pants mate !!

Spend some time and money and it can be as good as a rev3 performance wise.

I knew about the cams etc .. seems a LOT of work for an extra 20 bhp too :D

Early (pre '95) rev3 cars are the best for the UK as you get the best engine and can do the de-cat ..

I have heard of probelms though, that the cylinder walls are two thin on the early gen3's and that under hi boost the wall can split (between cylinders 2/3 if I remember right).

I was changed by toyota, but they deny the change as then they'd have to admit there was a problem in the first place.
