Replacing The Seats

The drivers seat on my GT4 is really warn on one side what do you guys think is the best solution. Would it be worth finding a scrap yard and salvaging some seats or is re-upholstering the seats a better option?

Has anyone re-upholstered seats before or know how much it is likely to cost from a specialist firm?

there is also the possibility of buying some new seats from Toyota!!! A bit expensive I would imagine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would say your cheapest option would be a scrappy. Proffesional trimming doesn't usually come cheap. For a complete retrim (all seats) i'd say you'll be looking at the thick end of a grand, of course it would give you the option of customising the colour scheme. Have you considered after market seats, that could be another option.

TRIMMING seats is CHEAP..infact if its only your side bit worn we can repair just that side bit...we can get the material and repair jus thte worn bit and even repair the shape of the foam to amke it normal again..something like that cost like $150 aus dollars

Thanks for the responses. The trimming of seats in Australia sounds like a really good price. I will have a look at how much it would cost in the UK and post a reply. However, if it is going to cost up to a £1000 then I'm pretty sure I wont be having it done.

Have looked at after market seats but they are all really deep bucket seats and most of them are not adjustable, unless I pay a lot more. hhhmm not sure what I am going to do yet.

If you can find a 7th gen in the scrap yard, the front seats will fit and they are leather and really nice to sit in.

I know 3 for the 4 bolts on the sub frame fit the existing holes. you will need to change the seat belt plug for the ones off of your orignal seats though.

just an idea.

Thanks for the link, they seem pretty good, but not sure that the shipping cost added to the seat would be any cheaper than having them retrimmed. Will browse around some more.

Cheers
