Well I was sitting in traffic on the Tyne Bridge comin outta Newcastle tonight on way home and I let an SC430 out into the flow of traffic. First time I've seen one close up and what a beast of a car it is

Don't think that he thanked me but if you can afford a 50k plus car I don't suppose you have to

he didn't thank you?

THE PURE IGNORANCE OF IT, WHAT DOES IT TAKES ?!

a smile, a raised finger (ahem), a wave, a thumbs up, a wink (hello ;)), a tannoy type system mounted into your car that allows you to say 'THANKYOU' over a loudspeaker :o

any form of recognition will do!!!!!!!

GRRRR.

SC430 -what a total pile of :censor: I'd have a PROPER soarer over that any day!!!!!!!!

I can't beleive they soiled the good soarer name with that overweight mutant SLK/audiTT monstrosity.

yet ANOTHER example that the new toyotas have lost it. :crybaby:

The house over the road from where I used to live had one of these, never even realised it was anything special. Personally I think it looks like a Hyundai coupe or something like that. I think there are nicer cars out there and for a lot less money.

The car I really want to play with right now is a Mazda RX-8 (I'd be happy to settle for an RX-7 failing that). It may not be Toyota, but I just like the idea of outperforming 3litre cars with a piddly 1.3 litre rotary :P . As I said, failing that a twin turbo RX7  .

I persoanlly think toyota have lost it with they new "sports cars" (not trying to offend anyone ;))

my next car will either be a later spec soarer TT (will be my 3rd lmao -I like em ok?) or a late spec RX-7.. gonna keep the supra as a classic  Adi reckons theres probably less then 10 like it in the uk

sorry but the mk4 supra does not do it for me *sheild self again incomming rotten fruit* and the skyline is too bland...

I could however happilly see myself in an Aristo V300

Did I mention I've driven a SC430....

A very nice car... more of a Monte Carlo crusier than a sports car... that said, the 4.3 V8 certainly has some go...

If i could afford one, and make do with the tiny rear seats, I'd have one..

how much you looking to spend on a soarer mate?

would a manual suit you sir?

depends what I see.... I'm not ready to get one yet.. probably by the summer...

I DO want manual, but an auto is easily converted, so its not a huge HUGE issue. I'd probably ideall got for a 94 GT-TL spec.. (as late as ***** without the silly extra grille).

I'm not after a silver one tho mate.. had a silver soarer for nearly 2 years.. after a black one. :D

as for price.. depends on the car... my first soarer was bought about 4 years ago.. was a shade under 10 grand!!! (tho it was known on LSOV as a "tidy one" my second soarer was a higher specced car, but bought as bankrupt stock from auction.. -£2800... sold it for a fiver under 7 grand :)

probably look to spend 6-8 fora nice one... if its the spec I want....

I would love a big monster skyline or supra.... bah

suit youself :P

I'm not a fan of the new supra (if I was I'd have got one), not a great fan of the skyline (likewise).. and grew out of escort cossies when I was 15

I do like the MR2 turbos, and the celica GT-4s.. but look at the replacements.. is there anything "new" that compares to the old ones? nope. same with soarer.... same with the upcomming mk5 supra...

Clearly there are only a couple of us on here that agree :) it doesn't bother me now... I don;t buy new cars... but come a few years down the line we will be getting cars that are more modern then the ones we have got... out the current line up..... I can see me changing brand.

Do any toyota head office/officals frequent this site?

I've got a Lexus Sc430 and also a new Yaris D4D spirit and they're both great fun.

You're right that the SC is a (summer) boulevard cruiser....which is why its tucked away in the garage for now :P .

Mind you given the choice for a short trip I take the Yaris every time cause its nippy, its got perky handling, its reliable and has great economy. .

Wait till the summer though!!! B)

Cheers,

Buzzuk
