Guys ive driven about 1700km already and im noticing a slight problem when changing into second gear. This problem only exists when im in lift at about 8000rpm so when im trying to change into second it wont let it go in even if i force it until revs drop to about 5000rpm then it slots in.

Has anyone had this problem?

Your reving to high in first gear- is the first prob.

because of the ratio change between the sincro rings in first and second it effectively

locks out the gear the same applies from second to first on the down change. You might

get third or forth at that rev but not much else. try shifting at 7k to 7.5k it might help

or sod that and push the rev up in second gear to the 8k marker leaving the first gear

change around 5k right in the guts of the power band not at the end of it you will find

if you can change gears smoothly you will in fact accelerate better.

Thas my pov any way

hay i had a similar problem but was round 5000 rpms

but mine was short lived as the shifting fork parted company in bout 4 places and shot through the gearbox housing upon inspection of the clutch plate found every pressure spring ready to leave the clutch plate. costly run that one but hay I one the race!!!!! was it worth it!!!!! maybe??? o hell yeah!!!!!

Easy when you know how ;)

Rev to 8350 in first.

Start to press the clutch.

Lift off the accelerator about 50%.

Start to move the gear lever through the gate to second.

Back to full throttle.

Lever locked in second gear.

Lift off the clutch.

Wheee

Probably sounds a bit fiddly, but the gearbox really helps you out as

I find that you don't need to depress the clutch fully in order to change

the gears. Just needs a dab on the way through.

The critical thing is to be back on the gas before you finish lifting

off the clutch pedal. Then you get to stay above 6200rpm.

Cheers

Paul.
