I love my Yaris. On the noise/rattling subject, you would be amazed how many annyoing gitz bring their cars in under warranty because they are rattling, only for us to find them full of coins, tapes, pens, cds, keys sweets, boots full of un-nessasary junk. Its amazing, that when we remove all this un-nessasary rubbish, and test drive the car, how quiet it is. Oh, and it`s like a miricle, all these rattles disapear after the 3 year warranty has run out... or is that cos they`ed have to pay for our time to tidy thier cars then ^_^

Came up to some lights the other day. Me and the dude at works 1.2 Corsa.

I over revved the engine, wheel spun in first going nowhere, dropped to second, same happened O.o finally went to third and Yaris pulls away. Corsa's about a car length infront then I catch him up and overtake him XD

Mine's 100% standard engine wise, he's had an air filter and exhaust fitted.

Also burned off a 206 quicksilver and a 1.6 escort. Peaum Yaris XD

Please do not advertise racing on public roads, it's neither big nor clever.

could have been a set of light on a track ^ or on private land ^

Please do not turn this thread into a "mine is faster than yours" thread.

As Em (Demonic Angel) said TOC will not tolerate posts about speeding or racing on public roads

Crazyman, I think you should try to ignore the silly labels that people give to cars and enjoy your Yaris for what it is.

Some of the best cars on the road get ignored by many people because they want to pigeon hole them as girls cars, hairdresser's cars etc.

Toyota MR2, Celica Gen 7, Mazda MX5, Porsche Boxster even - hairdressers cars according to many (usually people who haven't ever driven them).

Yaris, Mini (both varieties), C2, Glanza, Rolla, Auris etc - bland shopping trolleys apparently.

Right! If you drive a car and you like the way it goes and handles, then don't be put off by people who know nothing about them.

You (hopefully) don't buy a car for its image so why worry about it?

This is so true!

I look out my window and see my Yaris and I have a huge smile on my face!

every time I get in my Yaris it feels fast and sporty and Im oh so very happy with it!

I was happy with my Yaris GS before and im happy with my T sport now.

My dad has a Yaris, my sister has a Yaris and my Mum has a Rav4. We Love Toyota! hehe

My insurance is ridiculous at just under £300!!!!!! and im 22!

I dont care what ppl say, as others have said on here they get in the car and completely change their mind.

Iv never had a unsatisfied passenger! :)

So both him and the "dude at work" pulled up to a set of lights on a race track where he also "burned off a 206 quicksilver and a 1.6 escort" and this all happened "the other day"

This was on a race track naturally...

A race track with lights....

A race track where it just so happened the "dude at work" also was at the same time as him.....

Oh no, it was that set of lights that Farmer Giles has in his cow field! My apologies

I'm a woman - I'm not a thicko! ;)

And in case he doesn't know what irony is:

Stop street racing when you obviously drive like a chav, before you kill someone!

I saw it as more harmless fun (the racing)

Delete the offensive posts if you like. But I know the rules now either way.

I also got told by a 106 driver that I know nothing about cars because I drive a Yaris. Fair play, have your opinion - but this was OTT.

My other mate with a ZR is now winging because he hasn't got leccy windows. Can't believe how much I use that 1 touch feature either :D

So far he's fitted the switches but they don't actually connect to anything. It's all a bit french electrics at the moment. He went on to say to fir them it looked like he'de have to take the wings off O.o

Im no expert, but surely it's just a big motor inside the door and the wiring through near the bottom of the A pillar.

Nevermind though.

I also noticed how no one trusts me with electronics and their cars. Can't figure out why as everything Ive ever done aftermarket-electrically has been done properly to my own personal standard.

Their loss

Evening all!

You know? I was wondering why I started getting emails from TOC again and of course, it's because of this resurrected thread

Some things don't change, do they? The Yaris is a great little car but if you want to race...

i). it isn't the right car

ii). they have things called tracks you can use. Of course, you'll invalidate your car insurance the moment you put a wheel on one unless you've made special arrangements. Great they are, smoooooth surface, less to hit, no pedestrians to endanger and guess what? It's still the wrong car to use. Of course, you'd also have to learn to drive smoothly and effectively or everyone will run rings around you.

iii). Did I mention the Yaris is the wrong type of car?

I'm sorry but if you're old enough to pass your test, you're also old enough to stop acting like infants on public roads.

As for street cred.... I'd argue that those who act like idiots and dress up their cars in an OTT fashion do a lot more to destroy their street cred than the poor little Yaris itself. ;)

Respect the opinions and the posts but can we get back to the matter at hand? Why our Yaris's are better than those other POS.

H_5hum - I had a 1L GS and moved to a T-sport and it is the best decision I ever made, i knew from the start I wanted a Tpot but couldn't afford the insurance n stuff back then. Now I have a steady job and made the step up, my sister owns my GS now and she loves it 2.

Nippy is the word. You'll be suprised on how quick you can nip out of a t junction or get round a roundabout. WIthout worrying about disturbing other drivers. I say good luck 2 you and hope you get that T-sport.

p.s. I make sure I dont drive like a chav, just use that extra bit of power when I need 2.
