Carina 97 Hatch - How Much Of A Job Is It Replacing The Boot Lid?

Hi, I have a Carina E Hatchback 1997 1.8 CDX, has anyone ever replaced or removed the bootlid/tailgate on one of these? How much work is it, as mine has a nasty dent, but a friend has a carina the same colour rotting away so I'm tempted to nick it off his. Also whilst I'm at it how many colours of plain red did they make? Just one I hope..? Cheers, Matt
