Headbolts Lifted

has anyone had the head bolts lift on 03 camry 2.4 vv.ti engine it didnt overheat water just started going back into water bottle garage said head gasket gone on stripping engine he found three head bolts had lifted cost a fortune to re bore block and repair just wondered is it a unique problem

Sounds like they mightn't been properly torqued down initially or re-torqued after settling in. Has the engine been serviced for a HG before? My camry overheated some time ago and compression and combustion vapour enters the water jacked and causes it to overheat and fill up the overflow sump.
