I contacted the company in Italy that drobotic's picture featured and now know a UK company will be supplying them in the next couple of weeks via a network of UK dealers. Check out www.connects2.com and part number CT24 TY16 it's the same as the one pictured above although it's not online yet.

Also looking into the original Toyota as well so at least it seems we'll be able to sort something in the UK soon.

Wow, looks really nice!!

How much did it all cost and where did you get all the parts, Toyota or Kenwood? Where did you install, or did it yourself? Does it work as Plug&Play? Have you installed some other Speakers also, or going with universals so far?

Hello,

The HU and steering wheel i bought in Kenwood.

Facia I bought in local store which import adapters and connections for Car installation.

It' took me one hour for mounting the HU and it's not just Plug&Play because the facia is not exactly 2 DIN so I must make some modifications on the frame of the Kenwood unit to fit in the facia and also I use some parts from OEM unit to hold the Kenwood unit.

For facia cost is around 20 euro, and for paint job is around 15 euro. ( every car body workshop has the color code for the Toyota and the color is 100% correct.

Double-DIN Fitting Kits:

Model & Year Colour Adaptor Model Number

Auris

(OEM bezel is needed 55405-02130) Dark Grey CAW-1300-06

Why didn't you just use this one? I think that should be Plug&Play? It was

one the fitting kits -list.

But please, could somebody explain what means OEM Bezel which is needed there?

There is (OEM bezel is needed 55405-02130), and ADAPTOR MODEL NUMBER: CAW-1300-06.

Which one do I need, or do I need both? And can I get them from Kenwood, Toyota, or somewhere else?

Please help!

Hello,

This is picture which show how the HU is fitted to console.

dsc00417ga8.th.jpgdsc00418vo6.th.jpg

This is Bazel, but as I know this kind of facia is not for Europe version of Auris so You don't need this part.

newheadunitvt1.th.jpg

Just buy this.

40206jo3.jpg

And the best thing is that You can add StartUp screen in jpg file. :yahoo:

Thanks for your help Drobotic! :)

One more thing :D

If I look your car and the Bezel on the ACV -site, the part marked with red is bigger on the site than in your car

dsc00421ig3.jpg

See? The size is different. Why is that? I don't think it will fit... :(

Hi Alex,

It's exactly the same!!

Maybe the color can cheat you but I assure you that is the same facia.

No doubt about that.

Drobotic, so if i get this straight, this part (as pictured 2 posts above) is the only part you need for mounting a single/double din headunit?

I've read a few posts that you need to screw the mounting sides from the original radio and attach it to this one?

And what about the cabeling?

Is this doable on your own via a schematic or must this be done by a company/mechanic?

And if so, are cables cut beyond repair so that the original radio cannot be put back in at any given time?

Since my car legally belongs to the lease company, they don't allow me to change things that cannot be reversed.

Thanks!

Hi ge000000,

Facia is needed if you want to mount 1 Din or 2 DIN HU.

For mounting you will must use some metal parts from OEM head unit, no problem about that because in OEM HU this mounting bracket is also removable, so easy transfer from OEM unit to new unit.

Only You must to do is centering the unit because position of the screws is not 100% on place. ( on my previous picture You will notice red markers from the side )

For connecting the new HU You must use also adapter from Toyota wiring to ISO wiring .

And if You want to have steering wheel buttons active You must also use steering wheel adapter. ( eg. For KENWOOD units please use CAW-TY1290 )

This adapter from Toyota for the wiring is already in the cable-tree on the stock OEM headunit?

Or should i order this from my local toyota dealer?

I don't really need the steeringwheel controls, as i have yet to decide which HU i will take.

Oh and by "facia" or "fascia" you mean this item right?:

Exactly, we use this word for that kind of adapter ( Facia ) , maybe someone calls that with another word but on final it have same meaning. It's all adapters !!

In Croatia we can buy connector in local electronic store or Car Dealer, so what you prefer, at the end You will get same thing.

Can any of our European friends help source the facia for the auris? I have spoken to 3 UK Kenwood dealers in the last week and none have been able to source the facia. I have placed an order with incardirect and they are also saying it's on back order. Anybody in the UK managed to source the facia and the steering wheel volume control adaptor?

Now I've found all the parts I need. Here is the list and prices just for fun:

Kenwood DNX-5220BT (Model with Bluetooth) - 1450eur.

Toyota->ISO Adapter Cable 22eur.

2DIN Facia Kit - 40eur.

Kenwood-KCAiP300V for Ipod Audio&Video playback - 60eur.

Kenwood-CAWTY1290 Steering Wheel Adapter - 125eur.

I think I will order the universal 5220 without the bluetooth,

because I allready have it installed to my Auris for the HandsFree.

It will cost less, especially if I'll order from the UK where BT model

costs approx. 1000eur. and non-BlueTooth about 800eur.

Update on getting the facia in the UK.

Please contact Celsus UK Ltd. I am not sure if I am allowed to put trader details on here so PM me if you want tel or email address details. I am sure a well known search engine will give results. The part number for the facia from that company is AFC6020. They will ask you to order it through a dealer as they trade with ICE dealers only but it's all pretty straight forward. I am now expecting 2 of these facias tomorrow, no doubt I will be returning one. If anybody needs one please PM me.

Also, I have found out the the Kenwood facia will require another part from Toyota to get the fitment right. I will therefore recommend you stick to the connects2 or the Celsus UK facia as they do not require any further parts to fit the double din radio.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have all the bits together to have the install done on Thursday.

Hope this helps

Didn't find anything for Auris on that page. There is no Auris in the search and selecting "facia kits" or "double-din fitting kits" doesn't give any result.

What is the missing part of the other facias, which is only in Connect2 and Celsus -facias? I have some interest towards the other facia, will PM you about that!

By the way; Which player are you installing?
