Anyone Have A Brodit Mount In Their Aygo?

I'm currently researching an alternative for mounting my TomTom,

as the suction cup sucks (well it doens't and that's the problem).

I've found the Brodit Proclip that fit's over the little shelf above the radio,

but the LHD version is mounted to the left of that shelf and would obscure

my vision of the display I've built into the dash.

Could anyone here that has a Brodit Proclip in their Aygo

post me a picture from the lefthand (passenger) seat???

That way I can determine if the Proclip

would be suitable to my needs...

TIA,

I really don't want my TomTom in that little shelf as I have a Triple Info Display

in its back wall and placing the TomTom in front of that would obscure view to it.

I think that with a RHD Brotit Proclip the TomTom would stand clear of the display,

but all pictures I've found so far are mirrored images of the LHD-version.

I really need a picture of an actual RHD installed one as seen from the left (passenger) seat...

I would buy another suction device as the window is temporary at the end of the day therefore can be removed if needs-be. I was going to do something custom with mine but this went through my mind. Here is a pic of mine just incase you buy a suction.

It doesn't need to be temporary for me...

If a Brodit doesn't work for me I'll probably fabricate something myself.

I was going to do so in the first place, but it turned out there was not

enough space underneath the little shelf to do what I wanted...

My Idea was to make a trap door of some kind that

the TomTom would rise out of, preferably motorised...

But there's a brace inside the dashboard that I can't get rid of...

At the moment I'm thinking of making something that will come out of the

cowling over the speedo, so the TomTom will be opposite the revv counter...

Your placement of the SatNav is OK in the UK, but I'm in mainland Europe,

so I'd end up fitting the TomTom to my left. I've tried that, but since I'm right handed

I had a very hard time controlling the TomTom. Now that I have MapShare active I'll

be needing to control it even more, that's why I want it closer to me and sturdier...

I have my satnav stuck to the windscreen, just down the bottom near the right speaker, doesnt obscure any vision at all :D

  • 4 weeks later...

Looks nice, but Ive decided to go antother direction...

I'm in the process of giwing my dash a true Mickey Mouse look by

mounting my TomTom opposite the rev counter, atop the speedometer...

I still have to figure out some things so it 's removable,

but I'll definately post pics when I've got it working...
