Hilux Service

Planning to give my new (well old really but new to me!) Hilux a service. It's a 1896 4WD, 2 litre petrol.

I need to know:

1) What is the required points gap?

2) To change the coolant, are there any bleed points anywhere?

Cant say for definate bout your 1896 pickup but my '91 diesel hiluxsurf has no bleed points. Its a case of taking off the top and bottom hoses, taking the thermostat out which isnt a tough job, heater controls inside set to full, drain everything and sure flush it all thru with a garden hose while your at it, and refilling is done slowly thru the rad pressure cap till full, also fill expansion bottle to level, start her up with cap off gently squeezing all hoses specially top and bottom to get any trapped air moving up and out. Close cap, go for a short spin and check bottle level. All you can do is watch closely for a day or two for the level under the pressure cap dropping due to air being moved out. Inside heater not working would also mean definite airlock. Watch the temp gauge.
