alrite ppl.

my elec windows have stopped working both of them!! have tried changing the switches and its not that. no fuses have gone although i cant find if there is an actual fuse for the windows. also the central locking doesnt lock the drivers door. help.

Have you also checked the relays?? If the fuses are intact it's possible the relay has failed. If you get stuck check out http://mr2manual.teq.org hope you get sorted soon

You could have a short circuit somewhere that is preventing these circuits from working. How well is your stereo wired in, is it a botch or is it a good job? The only reason I ask is that a mate of mine recently had similar problems with his Celica. It turned out that the previous owners had made a botch job of installing the stereo. He'd cause several wiring faults, which over time meant the heater, mirrors, windows etc. stopped working.

Check all the usual stuff such as relays, fuses etc. If it none of those things, you will either need a workshop manual so you can trace/verify the circuits on the wiring loom, or take it to a garage for repair.

stereo job was done by a professional company and i know has been done well--- never had problems with their work and they have been doing work on my cars for years.

I think at this stage the appropriate action would be to take it to a garage you can trust and get them to look at it.....

Hmmm - we'll as a guide, my mate with the celica paid around £35.00 to have his looked at, they spent two hours diagnosing/soring the problem. I would be suprised if it takes longer than this, and may cost a little more, depending on their hourly charge.
