I tried to wash the windscreen the other day and the water didnt appear, i turned down the music and couldnt hear the motor even try to force the water out.

Ive mentioned it to a few friends and they said check the fuses first, problem is.... i dont have a manual for the car and have no idea where the fuses are or which ones are for what purpose.

Any ideas please

when you tried to use the washers and they didnt work was it morning time/cold etc?

if the water in the washer bottle is frozen the pump wont work and will usually blow the fuse.

which year avensis do you have?

depending on the model fuses are under the bonnet (next to air filter box) behind the glove box and sometimes behind the dashboard on drivers side behind a cover.

Mart.

It's a 2000 model

2.0 sr

Ive located 2 fuse boxes under the bonnet, but without a manual i've no idea which fuses are which?

Although they are colored and numbered.

Hi guys,

I had the same problem recently, the motor for the pump was not making any noise. I first checked all fuse areas , there are three places if i can remember. I confirmed all fuses ok.

I then set about locating the pump. It is on the side of the bottle. I had to remove the engine covers underneath the car to allow access. I then removed the pump from the bottle. Its a sealed unit no good trying to take it apart.

I then got me mate to put some power into it to check if was still working. It looked like it jammed the power got it going and its been great ever since.

Before puting it back on flush the bottle out first.... good luck
