No-one help me with the steering wheel removal?

Pretty please with cherries!

David

1. remove the bolts from each side of the steering wheel

2. grab the top side of the horn cover /the airbag assy/ and pull it towards you - be careful not to rip off the cables attached to the back of it

3. done

have a look at the pdf in the beginning of the topic

Done!

Removed the airbag, functional buttons and horn:

Receptacle is seen even if you remove only the airbag, but because I was sure would happen - I did not try in advance.

Receptacle:

Steering wheel removed - special tools not needed only wrench and pull:

This is the most complicated part - the cruise control switch should be attached to the horn plate, but there are no wholes - you must drill:

The hole, for the CC switch (I did not covered yet, but this will happen):

And the sign on the board:

Excuse me for the poor quality of the pictures, but they are taken by phone, not camera.

Hi all, I'm very impressed with the ease with which this can be done but can anyone tell me if it can be fitted to mid 2006 face lift model, surely it can just different connections???

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pete

it will work for ANY Avensis from 2003 to 2006.

Hi. I was wondering if by any chance I could install that to an Avensis 1.8 2008 model.....

Can anyone point me to the right direction to check my car if i can install that?

Sorry for my poor english but it's not my native language...

Hi all

Has anyone tried this on a 1.8 petrol model, yet?

The connections are identical on Rudy Asp's pictures as are on my petrol version.

Johnrobot mentioned it could be done to all 2003 to 2006 Avensis, but did they mean all diesels, or all engine variants.

I would really like to get to the bottom of this, as soon as possible.

Thanks

get camry OEM cruise control stalk from ebay /£15 including delivery/:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...RK%3AMEWNX%3AIT

The listing is more than 90 days old, so I cannot find the listing on eBay anymore. What year Camry it should be?

Cheers,

juha

Hi Juha,

Try to search the following eBay member: kbank477

I got one cc controller described as "TOYOTA TACOMA 07 08 09 TUNDRA FJ CRUISE CONTROL" from him for 17 EUR including shipping (5 days only from Thailand to Slovakia).

I have installed it to my Avensis 2.0 D-4D, 85kW, produced 11/2004 and it works perfect :)

I hope that this below will help you somehow too :) :

Did anyone install Cruise Control on 2005 1.8l VVT-i (I think it's the T25 chassis), the before-facelift model.

Hi,

Try here: http://www.conrad-anderson.co.uk/cruisecontrols/cruisecontrol-goldcruise.htm

Send them your car details and ask for advise on what cruise control model controller and comand module you need.

I have the AP800 control unit plus T27 interface and the CM25 command module.

Works perfectly.

Hi,

This maybe a stupid question but do all cruise functions work? Speed up/slow down? etc. thinking of trying this on my 06 D4D facelift model, doing a lot more motorway driving lately.

Thanks.

Yes all works.

Well I would say read in detail all the posts, as wiring of facelift is slightly different.

everything is same except the wiring. Somebody uploaded the photo of wiring, and if you can understand it, then go ahead.

Cheers.
