I have a metal clinking/rattling sound coming from my off side rear wheel, more prominant when going slow over sleeping policemen ( no puns please about waking them and telling them to move). cannot hear the noise at speed. Is it my wheel bearing.

:( Hi, I had a similar noise (I think) from the rear of mine and since I rebuilt the rear brakes it has stopped. All I did was fitted new drum/discs and relined them and fitted new pads, greasing the correct places as I went. No further innapropriate noises. :D

Hi Nigel - one other variation on this, is that, if you hear the clicking when under gentle/mild braking it'll probably be one of your rear anti-roll bushes - it's very common on the 6th gens - cheap to get replacement parts, bit fiddly to fit - altrernately, could always try wraping a piece of inner tube or similar around - might work.
