Right back on Blob watch again after hectic two days....

Journey:

Wed

Chelmsford to Swindon then back to Chelmsford via High Wycombe (popped in on family)

Thursday

Chelmsford to Northampton and back

Total 438 on one tank full and averaged

Calculated worked out at 48.3 mpg...................Still !Removed! good in my book................... :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ok - lets keep this on track (sort of ) :D

not quite a blob watch but had to remove my radio for a bit of rewiring,so lost the computer economy info.

Put it back, then had a trip out to B&Q and back Monday (exciting life I lead) - so about 20 miles with lots of hills and stuff and when I got home, I was averaging this!

My OBC is not very accurate, but even if 8 MPG out, It is still pretty good for me and approaching bitmans pair of RAVs!

shame it is bound to be a one-off :crybaby:

Been doing a few miles recently .....

10.09.2008 32,0 MPG

07.09.2008 33,5 MPG

05.09.2008 31,5 MPG

29.08.2008 30,2 MPG

Not dipped below 30MPG for last 3 months so pretty pleased with that (even though nowhere near the clackety diesels performance ;) )

Reckon long as speed is kept reasonable, then +30MPG should always be on for the the 2.0 Petrol.

Right .....nothing to challenge King Chatman :king: this time around.

Been doing a little experiment, running a little faster on the motorway, only 65mph, to what effect this would have.

First off, Miss Daisy wasn't happy! :P

Secondly, it did feel a lot more comfortable when I had to venture into the middle lane....or beyond :o . The engine felt more on-boost if I needed to accelerate.

Right to the proof of the pudding:

429.2 miles,...............44.43 litres,.............43.91 mpg ;)

I can live with that, a little down on previous :( but not bad! :)

OH, with air-con on all the time and because of the darker mornings :( headlights on for a good majority of the time. :thumbsup:

A little update from me...

At last fill up, I had done 411.3 miles and put in 45.52 litres which gave me an mpg of 41.08 :yahoo:

I think you can guess who's not been driving my car! ;) :lol:

Sorry I claim Chatters has an unfare advantage,(1) there are no hills in Essex. (2) for half of that mileage he was towing it behind his new mountain bike, (3) he probably had some of his tennents pushing it..I demand a re-run.. :yes:
