Like a piano off the Empire State Building :lol::lol:

But if I get 400 plus miles just after 3/4 tank level and well before the low fuel light come on (just like the last blob-watch tank full) then I'll be very happy.

And if I keep doing that week in week out, Miss Daisy has a permanent job :lol:

Hi Fuji,

'got a run to Dundee and back next week ( from West Yorkshire ). Can I borrow Miss Daisy? Seriously though, I'm out for a maximum economy trip so will post results.

I've logged every drop of diesel that has gone into the D4D since I got it new at the beginning of April and find the error between the OBC and brim-to-brim calculation is running at 7.4%. Mostly local running: 33MPG Some motorway:42MPG

Determined to get 50 on the Dundee run! If it works out OK we MIGHT just make the return journey on a tank - eat your heart out Mr Clarkson.

Best regards

Chris

At the right price Miss Daisy is for hire........driving duties only!

Good luck Chris, look forward to seeing your results.

On the home front Miss Daisy had a hard time of it yesterday, battling in to and out of city centre Manchester

Expect the results to suffer as a consequence :crybaby:

Wife moaning to husband "you never take me anywhere expensive anymore" Get your coat on, says hubby. "why where are we going" to the flocking petrol station, says hubby  Shell garages are to show porn movies at the pumps so you can watch someone else getting stuffed, at the same time as you are

As posted earlier, I got 420.7 miles out of my last tank of diesel. Having put in 48.93 ltrs to fill her back up, I've worked out that my mpg for the last tank of diesel was 39.09 :yahoo:

How are other T180 owners getting on?

Nice one duncerduncs....

As said by Jeremy Clarkson last night.. It's not the car it's how you drive that effects MPG... Proved with good effect with the M3 and Prius

Topped up the tank this morning and worked out the difference and equates to 44.7 mpg

So far if I'm not proven wrong... all the above MPG's has been for the 5 door models

We need some comparisons for the 3 door model.. to see if Bothy's argument that the extra weight of two extra doors effect fuel the consumption....

Any three door owners out there following this thread...........

Just done my first longish drive in my 4.3 XT5 D4D, from Glasgow area to Braemar and back. It's a mix of dual carriageways and some twisty, hilly stuff further north, around 250 miles round trip. Had plenty of time so took it fairly easy to see what sort of economy I could get, the result was 50.6mpg :D

The big advantage of the diesel for me is when towing my racecar, my first petrol 4.2 Rav only gave around 21mpg, my next 4.2 diesel did 31mpg and i'm hoping the new 4.3 will be better still.

I am averaging around 30mpg across the board at the moment. I do 70% motorway and 30% around town, the around town is rough on the mpg as most of it is around Milton Keynes where there are more roundabouts than the rest of the south east of england. I am driving for economy but at 30mpg I will get over 300 miles out of every tank full.

Look forward to your first blob! :newyear:

Obviously i don't use my car for work, and swmbo works part time 800yds away..so it only gets used for leisure mileage, my last rav having done 23000 miles in 5 yrs, I do get a small discount on my insurance for do-ing less than 5000 per year, but don't know how much.. I filled the tank in case of fuel strikes, I sometimes wonder, do i really need a service every 12 mths ? but at least keeps warrantee valid, and our guru A.M. says low mileage cars need servicing just the same, if not more often

Bit off topic but you all know we like a wander...

Any how..As we all know the MPG read out on the RAV's are a bit suspect at the least and can give some very over zealous readouts :o :o also the speedos read out by a fraction as well... noticed this using my TomTom on my orbit phone...Ok what's this leading too.. Well downloaded a col bit of software the other day to use the in-built GPS... It tracks my speed and location along with a few other neat features as well....So now I can keep within that optimum MPH and gleam that extra mileage out the Diesel tank
