2002 Corolla Problem With Airbags/ecu

HI ALL!

I have a big problem. My 2002 Corolla was involved in an accident a few months ago and have been repairing it since then. Now it is almost fixed, however as the airbags (the one I have, has only two) came out, my electrician says that in some cars one should replace the ECU and ABS controller or else it might not work or even worse the airbags would come off again! Now I am not really an expert so I ask your advice and what you think. In order to fix my car I bought half-cut corolla - same year, same engine. the only difference is that mine came with air-con and the half I bought didnt have one. if I had to change the ECU, can I use the one on the half? will this create some sort of problem (maybe because one has aircon and the other doesnt?). Hope that someone can help me.
