Had to do a quickie from Porthcawl to Newbury last Saturday, keeping up with my French relatives !!!! Then kept up a slightly lower pace using M3, M27, M40 M42 and M54, in all travelled about 400 miles. My computer started with a 52 read out, but dropped down to around 47. So in real terms I guess 70 m.p.h. and well plus knocks the diesel Rav down to around 40 m.p.g.

Averaged 29+ this morning on the way to work from a cold start.

Not bad for a 3.2 in stop start reading traffic!

During the summer the best reading i got was 31.9 ( average consumtion ) , its now reading 27.8.... i don't tear ar-se around everywhere, so bearing in mind the official consumtion figures as quoted by Toyota, the return that i am actually getting on my Auris 1.6 tr ( petrol / manual ) is pretty poor.

Hi, I have a `96 Previa 2.4 GS and around town/daily commute achieve approx 23-25mpg. On a motorway run get approx 27.5-31mpg. I dont have an onboard computer so work it out everytime I fill up. I have done this ever since I bought the car in 2002 and have done about 70k miles (now 145k) Regards. Rob

Hilux 2007 175bhp Invincible = 25-26mpg

2000 X plate Avensis estate, live in Sheffield so on average I knock 10mpg off of whatever the reports or manufacturer figures reckon. I get min 25 average over a tank, best I've had is 35mpg this was last May's holiday trip to France, 3 adults 2 kids boot full to roof and large roof box loaded to max sticking to speed limits. I reckon it'll do well over 40mpg at a steady 70mph, but i never do it that kind of journey for longMy trip in the car at the mo is reading 19.8mpg so its about 6mpg out, according to the book it works from total milage of the car?

Corolla Executive 1.6 GL

Shocked & stunned :( I filled her up to the brim, approx 40 litres & reset the trip mileage. I have done 80 miles & the needle is on 1/2

Admittedly, it was all short trips, with frequent stops & starts around my town.
