Mr2 Mk1 Headlamps

Hi

I have recently acquired a 1989 MR2 and need to change the headlamps for some which are suitable for driving on the right hand side of the road.

As the Mk1 is very rare in France (am not even sure if it was sold there) I am unable to find secondhand replacements.

Does this model share its headlamps with any other model of Toyota?

Can one just change the glass, which might be available from Toyota at a lower price than the whole lamp?

Your help and advice is much appreciated.

ps.... incidentally, MR2, when pronounced in French, sounds like "est merdeux" which means "it's sh*tty" :(

I'm sure you've sorted this by now though have you looked on the Uk version of eBay ? There is always someone breaking an early MR2. There is very little demand for the headlamps second hand as they are protected most of the time when the lights are off hence I left mine in when I scrappped one. Not sure if another Toyota model at the time shared lamps, maybe a KP60 starlet though I think they were round ones.
