Cars For Me Mam...

Trying to persuade my mum into buying something interesting for a change.

Past motors have included:

Morris 1000

Austin Maestro

Vauxhall Cavelier

Ford Mondeo

Pug 405 Estate

So as you can see, nothing too special *cough*understatement*cough*

So, anybody got any suggestions for a car in the region of 9k that's nippy without being neck-snappingly quick (like a Supra), fun to drive and practical? FWD would be preferable I should think.

I found me mam a Audi A4 TDi... very very very nice car!

Funny you should say that - I've been thinking along those lines myself.

I also thought about the Ibiza Cupra (I come from a strongly VAG-oriented background myself) but I personally prefer the idea of the Audi just 'coz it's a bit classier, like

trust me ... no regrets....

But make sure you get a decent colour... i found a nice metallic silver one.. but if you wanna save mony then you could save up to almost £1.5k on a A4 if you choose the ugly colours like bogy green!

I very nearly got myself an ITR recently. Love 'em, but could see myself getting a bit cheesed off with the lack of torque and having to wring its neck all the time (although doing so is very rewarding)!

The old cheese really likes the new Civics, mind you.

Tried persuading her to get a Corrado VR6 (again, I was thinking about one myself) as she loves how they look but they're a bit too old for her liking. The dash is awful, too! (These things count as far as mum is concerned)!

The 2.0 litre Celica GT might be a good idea as she likes them. Cheers!
