I've just bought a Sony Ericsson Z600 mobile phone (blue tooth) . I wanted a new Car kit so I bought a Seetkit it's a blue tooth kit that just plugs into the cigar lighter, but contry to what the salesman (at Orange)said, the voice dial doesn't work, So I phone carphone ware house and they said to get the sonyericsson blue toth kit that you have to install in the car. Now my question is.... Has anyone ever fitted one of these and if so how hard is it to do?

Thanks for any help given

i would assume its fairly easy to do depending on how it connects to the stereo or if it has its own output speaker

im concidering one myself with all these new laws coming out!

kaz im pretty sure that the price of £200 or £250 is the price for it to be fitted into the car. i think it comes with its own sperate speaker but you can buy this little module thingy that allows you to hear it through the car Speakers, so you have no unsightly 5th speaker.

let me know if you do go for one, cos im in the same boat too, not sure wether to get it or not...

They commonly come with ISO connectors now and it is basically just a case of plugging it into your stereo leads then your stereo is piggybacked into that. And that goes for that little box that uses your stereo Speakers. They can also be supplied with adaptors for car's that don't have ISO connectors.

I'm going for the Sony Ericsson one it costs £129 via Carphone warehouse I'm going to get the cable to put it through the car Speakers my husband thinks he can fit it., carphone have said to look at it and if we decide we can't fit it they'll do it for £50 but the assistant said it only takes about half an hour so can't be to difficult.

It looks pretty good all you have is a button on the dash somewhere that you just push and speak the name of the person you want to phone and it dials it you can also voice answer ( as long as your phone soports this) the button looks cool as it is illuminated blue.

When it's fitted I'll report back on how hard/easy he found it to do.

Funny thing is at the moment if my phone rings while I'm driving I just let it go to voice mail and I never speak on the phone whilst driving but I just wanted the option.

tThe only car kit that comes with ISO connectors is the parrot Bt kit and it's pretty pants TBH.

the Sony ericsson HCB-30 BT car kit is one of the best on the market today and have fitted a few now.

I have a specialised forum dedicated to Car kits

My Tech support Forum ericsson Bt kit section

It is possible to integrate most kits through car stereos depending on model of car and type of stereo fitted.

I am very pleased with my HCB 30 although the mute couldn't be used as Yaris T Sport stereo doesn't have a mute (not that my husband could find) but the ring is very loud and If I can hear it over my stereo (which I play rock music full blast) then you will be able to I'm sure.

My husband fitted it and said it was fairly easy to install, he's done a lovely job. The control button is on the right by the electric mirror control. There's a sort of blank out button that he drilled a hol through to put the wire then stuck the button on now it looks like it was fitted when the car was made. The external speaker was fitted under the centre consol so you can't see it but it is very clear to hear. He fitted the mic on the right and put the wire under the panal. As I said he has done a lovely job you would think the kit was supplied from new.

I've tried it and the voice dial worked very time.

I would recommend this kit. I bought it from www.directmobile.com for a total of £129.00 but www.eXpansys.com have it for £117.00 plus PP but they were out of stock. Carphone warehouse want £149.00 so internet buying saves a LOT of dosh.

Mind you having the bluetooth switched on drains my phone Battery much faster so now I'll have to get a car charger.

I hope this post helps someone, anyone.

there is an Autolead and adaptor that can be used with the HCB-30 and Toyota yaris, the lead switched the stereo off during a call and routes the sudio through the cars front two Speakers.

Did one a few months back.

The Autolead required is the PC6-062B and the adaptor is the PC6-209B which requires a little mod for the HCB-30 am awaiting stock of the new HCB-30 specific adaptor that i designed for Autoleads which will have the part number PC6-115B when it is released in a week or two.

main lead is £47.00 inc vat and the adaptor is £11.75 inc vat and shipping is £5.50 and have both items in stock.

I am an Autoleads approved reseller.
