As far as I'm aware the 1.33 Auris ECU won't accept cruise - don't know about the Corolla.

I have a 2015 Auris Hybrid tourer and am interested in fitting this but can't see the cruise control indicator in the instrument cluster.  Has anyone fitted this to the Auris Hybrid in the UK?

I'll ring the dealer tomorrow😉

Do you mean it's not lightning up when you have the key in ON position, before cranking, or you shined some light there and did not see it?

The instrument cluster should be the same as for the CC enabled cars, with the exception of missing the stalk in your case.

When enabled, it should look  like below, if i got the right image.

Hi Steve

dont be surprised if the dealership say's it cant be done

the other option is to ask them to fit the switch & 2 screws i'm sure they

wont mind giving you a price and taking your money for the work.

Ha Dealer says it can't be done.  I'll have a better look and see what's there.

I have installed one on the 2013 Hybrid Auris. It works as it should.

Just found this so will give it a go despite what dealership says.

Any recommendations where to order the parts from or should they be available through the dealership?

i'm not surprised with the answer from them

this is the worst thing about dealerships being independant

if they where owned by Toyota / Lexus all dealerships would

have the knowledge regarding retro fitting this switch to have a working CC system

Not sure it is about not having the knowledge. Probably more to do with the fact they don't want the hassle of modifying cars.

Only a few car manufacturers have their own dealers in the UK - Ford being one.

However, in the case of Ford back in 2002, they had to buy 11 dealerships from the administrators of a previous franchise holder (Quartic), or face a major disruption in their sales and servicing network. Dealerships included three in Birmingham, two in Stockport, two in Bristol, and ones in Weston Super Mare, Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Hazel Grove.

its definately the dealers not having the knowledge

when i purchased my Lexus Ct lexus liverpool told me theres no chance

as you would have to buy so many parts to complete the upgrade

it wouldn't be worth doing, yet Lexus chester knew its a case of adding a switch

so knowledge is key.

As this isn’t a genuine Toyota part I’m a bit reluctant to chance it.

It's just a simple switch, besides the original parts for Toyota like those stalks are made by 3rd party anyway, and the price seems normal to me, unless you like being overcharged for a simple part.

Just enquired with the dealer and the cable is £8 + vat and the switch £97 + vat ............... speechless 😶

we havent had any issues with it, dont forget it is only a momentary switch

Fallen at the first hurdle 😂 struggling to get the airbag cover off. I’ve taken the cover off which should have revealed a torx screw but as you can see it doesn’t. I’ve also inserted an Allen key in the 3 holes but there’s nothing there at all and the Allen key just goes all the way in. Any suggestions?

a long screwdriver of a similar diameter to the hole

as you press the driver in the hole you will press on a

spring clip that releases the airbag you may have to gently

pull on the air bag to help release it

Brilliant thanks I'm still struggling (The guy on the video makes it look so easy :))

I could be a bit controversial and say its going in and out but not doing what it should !

steve the guy in the video isnt making it look simple  it is.

with the image you can now see what you need to move obviously in 3 places

if you are using a flat blade screwdriver then you may have to rotate it

through 90 degrees to make sure you are pressing the spring down

and not going down the side of the spring clip

Hello everyone. Surely it was discussed, but I have not found the following problem yet: I installed the lever, the bulb illuminated on the board, but there was no cruise control ... What could be the cause? The computer's jack has cruise control thread. My car is Avensis T25 D4D 2.0 1CD-FTV 2005.

Hi everyone

Been looking for answers in regards to an Auris hybrid 2010 model. Wondering if it's the exact same as the others and do I just need the stalk and cable. I really hope I don't need to be messing with the ECU wiring. Was hoping someone has tried on my model year?

Thanks in advance
