Hi All,

Now an official member of the Auris Club! I've attached a few pics of the beast, one at the dealer before I drove off (I was excited) and two basic shots when I got home. I was gonna take it out for a ride into the country and get off some better pics but it started to rain so I gave up on that idea. It's a 2008 SR180 with 38k on the clock and full toyota dealer history.

I've had quite a few fast diesels in my time... a Hybrid Turbo Fabia vRS that ran 240bhp, a remapped Astra CDTi Sporthatch (184bhp proven), a Citroen C2 VTS HDi (137bhp proven after remap). And a couple of not so fast... Escort 1.8 TD (GTi Replica) with uprated fueling that ran a smokey 100bhp, and after than a 306 1.9 DTurbo with uprated fueling that saw 112bhp (GTi-6 replica).

Had a few fast petrols as well in the shape of a 306 GTi-6 and a 306 Rallye (I like 306s...), an Escort MK6 RS2000 4x4, and a Golf VR6 Highline (In Purple!!!) (Had it for a week and hated it and sold it to a mate for a £100 profit!!)

Never had anything Japanese before, but I'm expecting 100% reliability!!!

I've had some modded cars in the past and tbh I'm not gonna go crazy with this one. I'm gonna debadge it mostly, just leaving the SR180 Badge and loose the rest (Why do I need a D-CAT Badge under my indicators?), spray my brake calipers red (I've got some paint left over from an old car so it's a free mod) and... well that's about it. I want to get a spare wheel (I HATE "get home foam").

Cheers all.

Welcome Tom :)

Never actually seen a 5 dr in red before - rather nice ! Judging by the cars you've had in the past, you'll probably find the suspension a bit soft & wallowy (especially when pressing on). Both H&R + Eibach do sports springs for the SR180, as even the so-called Toyota Motorsport springs fitted as standard to SR's are poor at body control. Just an idea though - your call

Thanks for the friendly howdy. Body roll is as expected but not much worse than astra (was really let down by that car). Might look into eibachs, what's the drop they give? And roughly how much?

No drop and around the £170 mark. I went for a 35-40 drop on mine from pi. Although it must be from a standard auris height because its about 5-10mm lower. Dam comfy for springs and less roll. Think I'm going for a roll bar tho to get rid of the understeer. Nice looking car tho orta. 180's are rare but don't see many red ones. Think mine and uncle bucks colour is most common lol. Still only seen one other on the road since owning one and I work all over the country.

Round of applause and put you hands together for Tom

First and foremost welcome to Toyota ,seems like you had most smokey diesel cars. Well I like you wheels, looks like its 17' I guess. What is the name of those alloys or are they factory fitted, red is a good color.

Err not sure i needed a round of applause but what the hey! They're standard fit wheels mate, don't fancy the aftermarket route this time. Although a new set of OZ ultraleggerars does sound tempting (had a set on my fabia)

The drop is only about 5mm from SR stance, as they always seem to quote from a standard Auris ride height. However I didn't buy the Eibachs for a big drop, I just wanted less roll & that's exactly what they deliver. They cost me £140 on eBay.

That's a good price. Can't fault Eibach. They are very good springs and iv had them on a few cars before. Shame they didn't make one with a drop tho.

Hi All,

Just a small mod nothing fancy. Had some red caliper paint left over from when I did my GTi a few years ago so I thought I'd put it to good use...

Sorry for the dirty wheels!!

Hey!

They're most probably 18" and lowered with King Springs Lows/Super Lows

My projector lens looks black too,on Saturday i was driving behind my cousin with the low beams (projector lens lights) on at night and she says she saw all colours like a rainbow all the way from my lights. There is no mist , its summer here.

This happens due to prismatic effect of headlight convex lens. In center of lens effect is absent.

The headlights are from a company called VALEO ,even the fog lights and the key blade is engraved VALEO . A single headlamp cost BWP 7,200 ( GBP543) here in my country. Now for obvious reasons I was forced to replace two of them.
