Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've just bought a 1984 KP61 RWD starlet.

As you can imagine the rust is eating away at her. I don't have the money at the moment to start proper work but i'd like to stop her rusting even more.

Anyone know of good products/techniques/websites for this?

Thanks

Kaman (geese) Lo

other than sanding and painting over the rusty bits with hammerite, or something similar, no. you've certainly got a rare car there, though, and it must be one of the last ones as well.

got any pics yet?

Couldn't Agree more. Mine started life as a complete rust bucket and i couldn't afford the respray for about three years. She has still got the hammerite under the black skirt around the car. Doesnt look too bad. But i'm biased.

Now that looks very much in the state that mine did three years ago :(

Very sad state of affairs :crybaby:

stick with it mate and if you want a little piece of advice "Dont try to walk before you can run"

It all takes time mate and lots of money......when you look at mine you are actually looking at three years hard labour and approx £4000 in parts and body work but that does include two different engines and a few little tweeks here and there.....

Good luck with it mate and i look forward to seeing the end result at one of the JAE's (maybe 2006 or sooner)

Hey guys and gals does anyone know what engines will fit? I 'm looking for a good bit of power. I heard a liteace engine fits straight in. 4Age i'd like but i hate fixing big end shells, I'd like an Agze but i'd need an ECu for her too :(

Looking for something carby and powerful.

If anyone knows of websites about ppl who have done mods to these cars can you please post the links

Cheers

Kaman

but youve done more work to your heavy pinto than you would have had to do to a 4age to achieve the same results. the ONLY advantage of pintos is gearbox options.
