Well, i recently purchased a JVC KW-AVX820 and through AV hooked it up to a small laptop and using a USB HSDPA modem was able to connect to the internet :)

However, i won't recommend this to anyone as it does not fit well into the facia plate, it doesn't fit up nicely and there's gaps around the dvd-player.

So i'm looking to sell it and try another one :)

Yeah I know one guy who bought it. Told me that the colour match is 100% and it fits great (as good as the black facias which most of Auris owners have). It's the same model as black ones, just painted so that you won't have to do it yourself.

Best regards, Alex

Front panel keys supply red and green LED. And then the question: Why green, if it's only for Auris?

Promising but suspicious, I'd say...

Please read some previous pages of this topic... Why would people keep saying "damm, this is for Corolla only" if they'd be all the same? If it would be so they would just pick up whichever 2din player, buy a facia and install the player without seeking for the right one! :)

The thread is here.

I am trying to make a conclusion but,only from pictures,i can't.

Could anyone "discribe" me the process in a few words ?

I know that thread, but there is nothing special about the modification. Andron is just telling

that he bought original facia and facia for Auris. Then he just modified them and put them

together. I guess he modified one "end" of the facia to fit the player and other one to fit the

car's shapes, but that's just me guessing because he isn't telling anything more about the process.

He says he just "improvised"...

Trust me guys, these Chinese units are CRAP!

I've had two of them, one like _kin_'s pictured unit and another bigger screened double din jobby.

In both cases the software was buggy, ugly and unintuitive. Both units crashed at least once a week if I tried to alter any settings from the factory set ones (including startup logo!). Playing MP3's on the move is hopeless as the mp3 interface is designed for use with a stylus. They kept forgetting my last used radio station, there's no way to enter your own preset radio frequencies, you can only auto-tune and then pick the one you want from the tuned list. They're not designed to allow you to install any software other than sd card based satnav stuff. They won't recognise or are very unreliable with any usb stick above 4gb, or any sd card thats above 4gb or sdhc rated. The sound quality is $hite and it's really difficult to get a good front/rear music balance.

Oh yes, customer support is mostly non-existent and offers advice like "unit reset please if you please thank you!"

The list goes on and on....

My advice is save up a bit and get a Clarion, Kenwood, Pioneer etc unit.

while on the subject of satnavs I have an Auris'08 with Toyota's satnav, are there any problems connecting a reversing camera to it?
