hi, im looking for a bit of a track toy at the moment, and something a bit nutty for the weekend

i have had a 3ltr n/a in the past, and it was a great car....but i might be remembering that it was faster and better than it was (having driven fast cars since)

some points i would like to clear up

are the HG week on the turbos?

whats the standerd boost on the turbo

is there anything specific to look out for

next is tuning questions

once the engine has been tested and pressure checked

is there a remapping service available buy any one

whats the standerd bhp

and whats a reasonable safe level of tune i can reach reasonably cheaply

sorry for the questions

VERY!!!!!! but the N/As are pretty bad for it too. These engines are famous for it.

whats the standerd boost on the turbo

about 7 PSi from memory.

is there anything specific to look out for

Headgaskets, front lower ball joints, rust.

Not without an aftermarket ECU, or piggyback system.

whats the standerd bhp

232 hp.

and whats a reasonable safe level of tune i can reach reasonably cheaply

Geta decent decat exhaust, intake, Lexus V8 AFM, 550 CC injectors, a boost controller and something like an SAFC-II should make reasonable power without spending silly money.

In all honesty, MR2s and Celica GT-4s are probably better suited for track use.... if you want a monster GT however the suprs is spot on.

I'd personally not go for the 7M 3.0 engined cars. there ar eplenty of 2.5TTs knocking about now, and bar the turbos failing tend to be a lot more robust!

I have had 5 now... (2 3.0 N/As, 2 3.0 Turbos, and one 2.0TT) If I get another. I'll fit a V8.

Have a look at the links in my sig for more info on my cars!

Thanks for that :D

im after a something that i can drive across europe in, do a lap of the ring and drive back in in relitive comfort, having had a gt4 turbo, 3 mr2's and one supra, and the supra was the best buy far

i cant help but want a turbo version :D i have looked for the 2.5 twin turbo, but there expensive, and there like gold plated rocken hosrs poo

Fair enough. I have been to the ring twice in *a-70 supras (the ones in my sig)... once in a TT GA-70 aero and once in a 3.0T MA-70. They ar egood at covering big distances fast and in comfort ;)

Both made it there and back no isses, although the TT had done less then 1000 miles since an engine rebuild.....
