Under the bonnet

engine_bay_blue.sized.jpg

now ive remodeled the rear end i need to re-mount the rear kitty litter recovery point

so ive been doing a few more bits....and bobs

first thing to sort was My Japsai, it was very close to the ground, those that have a Japsai will know that they sometimes catch on speed bumps, well imagine how much my Japsai caught.

repaint_13.sized.jpg

i have re-designed my red Japsai, and come out with the clearence freindly Japsai....To be known as Silver Japsai

japsai_new_clearence.sized.jpg

modified_Japsai.sized.jpg

also another major thing that needed sorting was the relocation of the rear towing eye, the original race car one was mounted at the bottom of the spare wheel well.......Well as there is no spare wheel well it had to be mounted elsewhere.

new_rear_towing_eye_2.sized.jpg

Last but not least, the previous Cold air induction, was mounted in an Aluminum airbox, where the ECU used to be, i wasnt happy, so ive continued the trunking into the wheel arch, and mounted the filter there, i will make a new cold air box under the arch, this also alowed me to relocate the Oil catch tank slightly better.

i think around the 400kg mark.....but i am aiming to loose more, for the intrim the doors will be lightened till i can afford the carbon doors, and bonnet, bootlid..

then theres the use of more Aluminum and Carbon, again when money allows.

hoping to shortly ditch the 1g engine in favor of a 3s-gte

that is awesome, you must be very happy with yourself? wish i had the balls to even attempt summit like that, let alone succeed.

anyway, today unloaded it back of the trailer to take it for a run......

also fitted a few more decals....

nice, work looks good i liked it before and wel i love it now

just a few questions though

why is the exhaust mounted where it is?

and couldnt you find a better way to blank off the other exhaust cut out,

oh btw love the ideas of relocating, hireing etc.

ok...exhaust, exiting where it does, actually reduces the exaust length by 4 inches, thereby saving some weight could also say it helps with weight distribution, ground clearence...blah blah blah, which is all true, but i wanted to do something different, i kinda always liked the 80-90's Alfas, they had off centre exiting exhausts.

the other exit will be eventually covered with a skirt......however the car is built for function rather than form, so its allowed to look a little tatty around the edges

thanks.....

i am currently intalks to get a last generation 3s-gte (255) with loom and ECU

once this is in place, the HP problems will be truely sorted, with a far bigger scope for tuning.

the new TRD lsd is on its way over from Japan at the moment, the Cusco upper wishbones should be arriving tommorow from Japan.......

VERY VERY VERY tidy looking track car and you def seem to know your stuff (wish i did) as far as competition use goes have you thought about doing a few hillclimbs in that? it looks like it would be very competitive being so light.

but it soon became clear that more power was needed, originally i was gonna fit a 3s-gte, but there were 2 many problems with the swap, so found a nic crashed altezza......and robbed a few bits

some wires and stuff

altezza_bits_1.sized.jpg

and Engine, and spare gearbox

altezza_bits_2.sized.jpg

which came with a TRD flywheel...........but not gonna be used :)
