Hi,

I have a 1986 Toyota Carina II and I think there is an airpocket in the heating system, because it doesn´t heat the car that well anymore. My question is how to get rid of the air? I heard from a friend that I should start the motor, remove the the tube that goes from the heating system back to the engine and keep adding cooling fluid until the heating systems "out-tube" starts pushing out just fluid, no more air. Sounds logical to me, but which tube is the one to pull out etc.? Anyone with experience about this topic? I would really apprecciate any help, thanks!

Hi,

Check your thermostat is operating correctly ie - the engine warms up ok,top and bottom radiator hoses are hot (shows stat.has opened and you have circulation) and the electric fan cuts in to cool the engine.

The two hoses going to the heater matrix should be hot and the inlet hose for the heater is the one with the Heater temp.control valve on it.
