How about Stirling ? We occasionally go to this place for a bit of lunch on a sunday, its quite near the Wallace monument -

There is also an Mac D's etc nearby as alternative.

The West is where it's at but I'll go pretty much anywhere.

I've not really got any suggestions but I'll do anything within reason. :)

I'm pretty much happy to go anywhere within ~60mile radius of Glasgow so Ayrshire, Borders, Lothian, Fife, Perth etc. all fine for me.

That helped a lot didn't it?

Also been thinking about some places in the east if we ever get round to a meet there, just love this place -

Or a bit further afield, and over the bridge, I like a little jaunt here a few times per year -

You can then take a 10 minute trip up the coast for a fish supper in the UK's best chippy here -

Well if it's good enough for royalty, film stars and celebs. ;)

Stayed in Anstruther a few times in the last year as its close to Crail for the 1/4 mile runs. If you wanted to do something like patch in with a Crail day, then I'm relaxed about folk having a go with the RAV. No, I don't get commission and yes, its freezing there and the toilets are rubbage.

The chippy in Anstruther has queues a mile long.....

imo the museum of flight is overpriced for what it is.

Thing is what do people want to do - do they just want to have lunch & talk/have a drive or do they want to visit attractions as a group.

If they do want to visit attractions then what sort (castles, gardens, museums, nature reserves, fair grounds etc.)?

don't really 'do' museums. Having taken the kids years ago, I've seen enough. Besides, I'm becoming a relic anyway!

Guy's you dont need to go into the freakin museum, I'm quoting it as a landmark to meet. It is after all in a nice

part of the country for an eastern meet

yes, there are remnants used by microlights & I wouldn't be surprised if some car club etc. uses it.

also think that it's used for markets.

I'm not arguing that it's not a nice part of the country but imo there are better/nicer places around there to meet.

p.s. iirc there is a motor museum around Aberlady.

They used to use parts of the old airstrip for motorcycle racing. Think it stopped a few years back, they needed the strip

when Edinburgh airport was being re-furbished. Guess it was only the rubber band planes landing there as its not so big
