I tried numerous motoring outlets but ended up ordering on line as no-one stocks these  Damn my impatience! I hate the amber bulbs in clear lenses they may have well just stuck amber lenses on if they were going to use the unsightly bulbs.

Are these bulbs the same as PY21W rather than the mentioned WY21W ?

Silverline are a different make from Philips but I cant remember who makes them they may be a little cheaper. The 'W' bit is for Wedge as the bulbs are a push in fit rather than the bayonet (pin) type. I just fitted mine (the Philips ones) now and am pleased to say it does look better. :yahoo:

I ordered the silver indicator bulbs and received the set of Philips Blue Vision sidelight bulbs free of charge. Somehow I ended up with 2 x sets so I now have 4 blue sidelight bulbs.

I fitted the silver indicator bulbs front and back quite easy.

Now the sidelight bulbs: On looking at the back of the headlight next to the indicator bulb there is another connector in the middle which I presume is for the headlight bulb. There is also a connector on its own at the top right or top left depeding on which headlight you are doing.

Is that the sidelight bulb?

Also seeing as i have 4 sidelight bulbs, is it worth doing the rear ones.

Thanks

I wouldn't think rears would make a difference. Keep 'em safe as spares.

Mine are now ordered. :D

The exact bargain with change and bank services is that I paid 29€ for 4 WY21W and 2 W5W whereas only 2 WY21W costs 24€ in a french shop.

Any other easy mods to do for a cheap price overseas ?

Just got my IQ yesterday and have already done a nice cheap modification that makes it look even better.

You will notice you have lovely clear indicator and light clusters. The original designers wanted a nice clean finish so all you see is silver and if you look at many of the show car and brochure shots of the IQ this is what you see.

However instead of using Silver Indicator Bulbs in production they save money by putting in the standard cheap yellow ones which then make it look as if you have a fried egg in your light cluster.

This took me 5 minutes to resolve yesterday. I fitted some Philips Silver Vision indicator bulbs, this was really easy a quick twist and the bulb holder comes out pull out the old bulb and push in the new.

The bulbs you need are "Philips Silver Vision WY21W"

There are quite a few sites for this if you get them from PowerBulbs.com you get some Philips Blue Vision sidelight bulbs free of charge. I also fitted these to the IQ for fun.

You can see the effect of SilverVision on this site

http://www.lighting.philips.com/in_en/cons...ing〈=en

I have fitted them to both the front and rear of the vehicle it makes it look "Super Cool" with no fried eggs. Next to the projection headlights they look great. The rear also looks nice.

This is part of my "Say no to Fried Eggs Campagne" ;)

Fiited these to our iQ3....sweet!

Anyone thought about improving the performance of the CHMSL?

Four LED standard version looks cruuuuuude!
