Mainly stock, with a few small mods:

* Toyota F1 lowering springs

* Corbeau FIA Sprint Excel seats

* Quite a lot of interior missing :D

* Stiffer rear torsion bar (thanks to Track Developments :thumbsup: )

* Rays CE28N wheels (thanks Kimi and her mates at Coordsport :thumbsup: )

* Hankook Ventus track tyres

It's all stock power, but the grip and weight-saving are good. Those wheels really are only 3.5kg each!

The first round is at Rockingham this Sunday. As you can see, an excellent entry and it's looking like Aygo vs. Vitz for class F.

I've been saying that as well for ages.

Looks great Paul, how much weight do you think you have lost ? How much do the wheels weigh ?

I'm, sure you will class F, seems like a husband and wife team there as well.

Regards

Andy

Thanks for the support, everybody :thumbsup:

Yes that is Janey from LOC who is racing in the TRD Vitz. That is a nice car, and I must admit to feeling the pressure a bit as she might be quite quick :crybaby:

I've been looking at different wheels for a while as it is said that 1kg of weight saved on the wheel is worth 3kg saved on the body of the car. Given that we only have 67hp to play with, weight saving has to be a top priority.

Those CE28Ns are 3.5kg whereas the Fondmetal ones I used last year are 6.6kg, so that is a good chunk of weight saved. Coordsport were pretty cool as I was extremely doubtful of Rays claims that the wheels really were that light, but they got a set in and weighed them to be sure. You do notice the difference, in handling as well as responsiveness.

No idea how it's going to work out on Sunday, but I'm sure it will be fun :D

Paul.

ps. Carbon bonnet group buy anybody? :lol:

That will teach me how to read properly ! :D

Very well thought out. Next you will be removing the rear doors and drum brakes. I know last year your were thinking of a few performance bits once the Colin Chapmaneque diet had been carried out fully, any more thoughts on the matter?

If there is a round at Brandshatch I'd like to come along and see you in action and maybe have a passenger ride! Though my 15 stone might mean you have to fit me with a Verne Troyer style body first to fit in with your evil Toyota sprint world domination plans.

That's quality...but also worrying :lol:

I think we all had another brilliant day, this time at Rockingham. I won class F again, but that was because nobody else showed up, again! Next time I think Janey's TRD Vitz will put in an appearance.

Unfortunately, grrr, the oval at Rockingham didn't suit the Aygo as the course was mainly a series of long straights separated by the odd chicane. I thought they could have been a bit more creative with the cones :D Turned out to be an engine-wrecker, alas, as I think four people cracked blocks or fried pistons during the day.

So as you can see from the results, it wasn't really my day. However, I thought I had one of my best drives, and I see what we need to do now to improve on the chassis tuning we have already done (front anti-roll needs work). Plus, amazingly, Bazza's stock Yaris T Sport finished behind me, so Aygo 1 - 0 Yaris :lol: :lol:

You can see the full results on the Javelin TSS web site.

I have a couple of pictures from the camera phone, haven't seen the official on-track ones yet.

Just out of interest Paul approximately how much did you spend on those wheels and how much in total making the car lighter?

Don't worry, I am sitting down with a large stiff drink ...
