i have just ordered an Aygo Blue, scapping my '96 polo which has cost me more than its worth in the year ive had it. Dealer quoted me approx 10 weeks for my Aygo, i just hope the Polo will last that long. im very excited, my first new car :D

Glad to hear you're joining us here in the Aygo forums! Welcome!

10 weeks is about right for the delivery of a new Aygo now, so no worries there.

I'm sure the Polo will survive :D

loved the test drive, it was so easy i didnt even have to think about it. i love the styling, much better than the C1 or 107 and for a better price!

Don't forget the resale value either when the time comes. :)

Yup very good point as petrol prices are heading £1 p/L upwards again...

Hmm i quite possibly may be the only person who didnt test drive the car.

curious, can i ask why you didnt test drive?

Didnt see the point, i sat in the showroom model and it was enough.

I dont care about ride handling or speed. All i wanted was a nice looking car which got me from A to B and wasnt a fortune to run.

Sometimes it isn't necessary to test drive the vehicle. If you are interested in the Aygo then you only have to come on this forum and almost everyone will recommend one to you.

Not really - it's you and me both !

I just got sick of not making my mind up. I read a few reviews and when I saw

the Aygo Blue in the showroom with a scrappage price tag of 6200 I made an

instant decision - YES.

Incidentally, there is a New Aygo brochure in the showroom dated May 09.

I've also got the last one, dated January 09.

For the life of me I cannot see one bit of difference in the two brochures

but I know there must be something.

If anyone can spot the difference, please let me know

Because you Aygoheads seldom frequent petrol forecourts (joke),

I'd like to inform you that I just paid 104 p/l. :driving:

Hopefully that the last fiver's worth I'll be putting in the old scrapper.

If you can test drive a car what do you actually learn if it is 30 minutes around the block ?

All a test drive does is reinforce your preconceptions, therefore might as well go for your preconceptions in the first place. I wonder how many people have taken a car for a test drive and thought "No, this is terrible". Some but a very small minority.

Regards

Andy

I wonder how many people have taken a car for a test drive and thought "No, this is terrible".

I did! Not with my Aygo, but when I was shopping for my previous car; a Nissan 100NX.

Went to look at the car and it looked like the car I wanted, so made arrangements for the

next weekend to take delivery after a testdrive. I couldn't drive it at that moment as it was

on the second floor of the "shoowroom" (an attic atually).

Drove the car for about 15 minutes, but it sounded so wrong and didn't feel right either,

so I left it there and drove back the 100+mi I drove in my old car...

But my Aygo I allmost bought without ever having driven one :D

They say that owning an Aygo is like having s*x with a total stranger...

...you just know you're gonna luv it :jawdrop:

Interestingly the Black has now come off Toyota's site and been replaced with the Platinum.

Different alloys - more of a multi-spoke than the Black's 5 spoke.

Colour is now (obviously) Platinum metallic.

Same interior Alcantara and leather trim as the black.

3.5 weeks until my Black's delivered - can't wait!

Just took a look myself... I think I preferred the Black's rims.

Really is identical to Black, just new paintjob. And the rims obviously.

That's true - Platinum is now shown as a grade and Black isn't.

However, if you try to ''Build your Aygo'' - Platinum isn't an option.

Anyway - for my money Aygo Blue has always been the best looker

Funny how they've updated the rest of the pages about the Platinum, but you still can't configure one :)

They'll update soon enough.

No not yet - later this week.

It's at the dealers now but apparantly they need a couple of working days to do

some pre-delivery checks in the workshop, a final polish and number plates etc.

I had a choice of about 50 registration plates, none were really significant so I chose

the one I found easiest to remember.

The scrapper is running on petrol fumes now and I'm removing 11 years of junk! :D
