toyota hilux 2.4 diesel pick up

Hello, I have a hilux 2.4 diesel pick up. the vehicle is 1995 and non turbo.2wd.

Iwant to use it for towing a trailer that loaded weighs about 2000kilos. mostly motorway miles. How do you think it will perform? Will it be very sluggish ? will it tow at speeds of about 70mph? How will it cope with the type of hills we experience on the U.K. motorways? Yor comments will be apprieciated.

I used to have a 2.2 petrol Hilux and towing used to be pritty bad going up hills. On motorways I used to get down to about 60 mph towing a Black Bird motorbike and had a new V8 engine in the back.

Once you get rolling it's better, but still very Sluggish. May be better with the toque of your diesel.
