I took my car in for service today and found out the keys for the locking wheel nuts were missing :( . Does anyone know how (and where) to take the nuts off cheap?

Toyota said that will be 1 hour labour (80 pounds) + 1 set of new wheel nuts (40 pounds)

please help!!!! Thanks!

Toyota should be able to order you a new key up, they should be able to check the chassis number and use their records of the car to get the key code, assuming they are the original locking nuts supplied with the car.

It would help greatly if you could post up relevant information, such as: how old your car is, where it was bought, what wheels are on it currently, when you have last used the key...but if it is a case of no key, then it is a case of hacking off the bolts and it wont be cheap...might even do some damage to your current alloys.

If Toyota have suggested £80 to do the job, I'd happily pay it...but no more. I would however make double sure I couldn't get hold of a duplicate key first though.

Might be too obvious, but have you checked the spare wheel well?

There should be a bag or box there anyway with the bolts for the steel

spare and it's not uncommon to throw the bolt-lock key in there too...

When you bought the car there should have been a black plastic box supplied that the locking nuts came in. In here there should be a card with a code on it. If you supply this code to toyota they can order you a new key.
