Injector Problems

I've had a misfire on my avensis 2.2 dfd for the last couple of months and decided to get it checked out by a toyota dealership. They have confirmed that its a problem with my injectors and that i should get all 4 changed. They have given me an estimate of £1500 for this to be done.... I then decided to get another opinion from another dealership, who wired the car up for an engine diagnostic check. they have said that 2 injectors are misfiring and that its best to get all 4 changed and have quoted £1900 for the work to be done. Aswell as the variation in price, both dealerships gave different info on whether the injectors would be original or from a specialist supplier...

I'm just looking to get some advise now to find out the best and cheapest way of dealing with this ???

go to Toyota or go private ??

What do you think ???? :(

hello mate

as vissible the price is about the same from twos.

when they stated injectors -- what exactly did they mean? injector as unit assembly or just an atomizer tip???

look normally all fuel valves (called injectors) are subjected to repair and the cost of repair (atomizers tips changing) is more less (!!!!!!!)

all I can recomend you is to contact PARTS KING (search him belong to this avensis dept) -- i deem his prices are cheapper + discount as for TOC member.

in case you have four atomizers tips as origiinals -- you can engage very reliable mechanic to have them changed at low cost + beer to him :)

i hope this helps

cheers/Igor
