Hi guys heres onother one for you to exert your in depth knowledge

Can you run a mr2 rev 2 without the afm on a standard ecu by just removing it and putting a pipe and filter in its place>?

once upon a time this was a decent forum offering good advice, seems to have died!!

no mate. unless you change your ecu to an aftermarket one the AFM needs to stay.

it may start and run but you wont get far.

It'll not even run .. it'll see no airflow and therefore add no fuel and stall.

I found this out when I pulled the pipe off to check for play in the turbo and to inspect the oil blow back ..

The car would fire, and then not idle.

Excellent thanks boys, was just wodering as i bought a huge k&n cone and pipe of imoc, and wanted to run it in the mean time after putting in a stage 2 TT ct26 until i get my link g1 ecu mapped in a few weeks
