Im in, but as a passenger with someone else, Ive unfortunately committed to WAY too many things both car based and non car based to afford running down to london the day before pod :)

Ill be fine once I get back to work at the start of Aug but financially that wont kick in until September. DOH!

While you mention track day camera, what one are you using? Did you go for a specialist one, or just use a little camcorder on a suction cup?

I am using a full on Sony High Def CamCorder mounted across the back seats between the windows. No puny little suction cup on the windscreen solution for me!!

And I made it myself. There are a few little tweaks to be made which I'll be completing this weekend, so it should be a very useful camera mount :D And as it is mounted across the rear seats, you have the option to pull the frame back slightly and include the driver in the video

EDIT: it's also width adjustable and the mounts can be angled any which way, so it should easily fit in most cars :)

I was looking at Dogcam for a few bullet cameras and recording eqiupment.

Or getting a really small camcorder and a huge suction cup so I can stick it to the window, or even outside on parts of the bodywork for those nice looking shots you get just behind the front wheel looking forward.

Yeah, ricc and I were having a hunt around for various mounts and saw the back seat mounts that span the width of the car but were put off by the £150 price tag, so he suggested we just make one ourselves. I got bored of him being a lazy waste of space so ordered the parts myself and it turned out pretty well

I think I will making a trip to a local electrical appliance store to get myself a dirt cheap camcamcorder over the net few days. Cheap as chips and not a penny more. Then need to find a mount

And of course, test it!

lol. Ok I shud re-phrase, I will bring my dads SLR. I wish I had a camcorder, don't worry I shall use my iPhone to record vids. I'm suprised u or ur parents don't hav and SLR most oriental ppl hav them, u see all the tourist in London with one strapped around their neck lol

I've seen a couple of headrest mounts and they look really good and solid, so should be able to handle a normal camcorder without any issues. Prices seem to hover between £40 and £50 Although I'll say this now, my version provides much better value for money :P but for ease of use and moving around, the headrest version is a good idea ;)

Managed to get a hold for a cheap and cheerful video camera. About £60 and it's about the same size as an iPhone, just about an inch thick.

Weighs hardly nothing, so all i need now is a screw mount on a suction cup and I'm away.

Stick to to the inside on the window, or the outside, or the wing, or the door!

I think fleabay might throw up a few good ones.
