  3. Because it doesn't turn over in this instance does anyone think it might be an electrical problem

What is a reasonable deposit ?

Are you sure that's not part of the fee that makes up the transaction fee? To cite one example, Barclaycard Debit can charge up to something like 1.75% if the transaction is done in person, or 2% if it's done online. I don't know about other providers.

    How to permanently disable LDA?

The radar cruise with lane keeping is also useful for reducing steering effort when driving in high winds.
  6. Off the top of my head, no. There is a long thread on here somewhere about spare wheels and there are pictures showing which bits need changing.
  7. Mine also flashes the indicators when you lock/unlock - it’s always done it, but may be a setting you can turn on.
  8. Thank you for advice also I've got 5 30 in there is that the right oil
  9. The fault might not be severe enough yet, or there could be other reasons the light isn't on have you got a decent scan tool this will give you a more definitive answer on whether the IACV or another sensor is malfunctioning.

Toyota Avensis 2006 VVTI 2.0 Petrol randomly cuts off

I was thinking IACV to be honest, hopefully thats it lol because other wise the car drives awesome has decent power the 2.0 VVTI can move when you press the accelerator but the thing that puzzle me is the check engine light is not on. I thoughi IACV fault would trip that light on?

    Permanently disable LTA and RSA

"But your Honour, Cyker on the Toyota forum said ............" 🙂
  12. Hi Peter, the problem points towards a faulty idle air control valve the symptoms you described stalling during turns when the engine is under stress, and a rough idle at times align well with a malfunctioning IACV. The IACV controls engine idle speed by regulating airflow. when turning, the engine requires slightly more power to maintain RPM. A faulty IACV might not be able to adjust airflow properly in response to this increased demand, causing the engine to stall. A malfunctioning IACV can also lead to a rough idle, as airflow regulation might be inconsistent. Other possibilities like air intake issues, fuel system problems, or sensor malfunctions can't be entirely ruled out without testing. However, given the symptoms and you mentioned that you cleaned the MAF sensor which is part of the air intake system, a faulty IACV seems like the most likely culprit.Hope this helps
  13. Ok thanks, shame they have no way to force it to check then. I am always a bit OCD about wanting to know things are running the latest version.

Try and buy original as lines per frame (TVL) on the video signal line van vary. Eg 600TVL, 800TVL, 1000TVL.
  17. Should be able to do OTA updates...that one of the main improvements......from what I understand it would be a 'push' update so you shouldn't need to do anything

I have fitted the rear mirror camera but not with the radio. I have connected with the red reverse wire.
  21. Hi, recently collected a 2024 Yaris design, really loving the car, just had a couple of questions about the smart connect system, I was under the impression it would be able to do ota updates but it doesn't seem to be the case. I have attached a couple of pictures, does anyone know how to update the software on the unit or is this a dealer only thing, if dealer only I assume this is just an update file put on a USB stick? May sound like a daft question but what is the actual name of this system? Smart connect 3 or something else? Thanks
  22. First port of call is do an oil and filter change, if it's dropping oil pressure especially when warm, it has the wrong oil in it, the oil is knackered, or it's been contaminated
  23. Ive had the car for more than two years now and Ive never noticed this issue before, though
  24. I have found the EV mode in my car seems to need a dose of rest from activities sometimes which I have always put down to it monitoring conditions which include many considerations including last use of combustion engine plus air temperature and maybe others. So I am satisfied it knows what it's doing and does what it does for good reason - certainly taken over longer periods of observation it does not appear as entirely random.

    Parking sensor sensitivity

Hah, I have the opposite problem - Mine starts beeping too early so makes me think I'm about to crash into something when I'm far enough a way a couple of motorbikes could probably fit through the gap It makes it very difficult to perform really tighty manoeuvres because the beeping is already on and, ironically, it makes it harder to judge the distance! I so wish mine had the 360 camera system the JDM one does...! I would have paid good money for that option, esp. now that I know how awful the Mk4's general visibility is!
