  1. Hi to all, I bought this old girl from fleabay just before christmas with 2 months tax and 3 months MOT left with the intent of a quick respray and then to sell it on but after the amount of hours that I will have to put into it I've decided to keep it :P As you can see its got a few rot spots but nothing too terrible. The worst spot is probably the sunroof and the bootlid, the sunroof has rusted so badly it had pushed the rubber seal out and stopped the sunroof moving and the bootlid is looking really bad on both the corners. After taking the sideskirts off I found two repairs at rear of the seals, both of which are still perfect and rust free, there is however a nice new hole that's appeared a few inches along towards the front. It's also rotten behind the rear bumper and on the NS rear arch so there's plenty of metal work ahead. Weldings not my strong point but a quick blast with a angle grinder will soon sort out my ugly welding. Overall though the cars not that bad, the interior is in perfect condition, two new wings, its got pretty much a full service history with old MOT's back to 98 along with a fistfull of receipts etc. The previous owner had a full stainless steel exhaust fitted with a powerflow back box that sounds great and had new shocks and springs fitted lowering it by a claimed 30mm, but tbh it doesn't look that low and when I drove it back it didn't handle that great either so I'll take a look into that after the bodywork has been finished. I'll be painting it in its original colour along with the sideskirts and bumpers and I may clean the boot off by removing the lock and wiper but I'm not 100% sure yet. Also if anyone has any of the following parts for sale in the London/Essex area please let me know. Battery Bracket NS sun visor (biege) OS wing mirror Sunroof....(not much hope) OS indicator unit (next to headlight) Original Gear knob.

  2. For me the most annoying part of the iQ must me the lack of any soundproofing around the wheel arches.Have you driven on a road that has just been gritted or full of stone chips? What an unbelievable journey that is,are they all the same? .It just appears to be grit against metal with no plastic arch to lessen the horrific noise. The lack of illumination on the retractable mirror switch must come second for me.

  3. Hi all, I need help. I'm trying to aquire a new lock nut socket to suit my locking wheel nuts on my Rav4. I left the socket attached to the wheel and decided to go for a drive, doh.... Now I have a set of wheels I cant get of the car. I have phoned Toyota, to which they said that I need a 3 digit code for the correct socket. Trouble is I dont have the number all I have is the product code for the set of nuts that on the car. 00090-03013-B Is there a way to match the numbers up? Any input would be appreciated. I have been quoted £56 + vat for removing the nuts from the Toyota dealer (thats each wheel folks!!), which makes me think that was there goal all the time. See attached photo of lock nut I require the socket for Thanks

  4. Just thought I'd share a few pics of my IQ (1) now that I've had the bumper corners trimmed with chrome wrap. I think it was Toyota's intention to offer this as a genuine accessory, but they decided not to put them into production, since it's listed on an IQ accessories PDF doc that I have: Chrome Bumper Corner Protector PZ415-I0520-ZB £177.69 inc VAT Anyway, the work was completed by Raccoon (near Wakefield), but they have sites all across the UK, and I was charged a reasonable £80. I realise it may not be to everyone's tastes, but I like the look of it

Cheers Dave 02 plate 1.8vvti, average consumption in this colder weather is around 35/36, in warmer weather it is 38. That's on a mix of town and out of town driving approx 50/50.
