Great car mate and don't be put off by this, just remember if you buy the car and you are happy if your MPG is around 35-43 depending on the roads you drive and speed you will never be disappointed. If you get more then that is a bonus and also reset the average MPG at the start of your test drive so you know what you did when driving around In all my 45 years of driving various makes & models of cars inc Ford. Vauxhall. British Leyland. Volvo. Honda I have never achieved mpg figures that are quoted in the books. I can only assume the testers dont drive in the same way and on the same roads that Joe Public does And after 45 years I have decided that I will not get my knickers in a twist over mpg figures anymore there are more important things than trying to match mpg figures out of the manufacturers handbooks
