  3. Nope that's not true...................the rust comes back after you park your car (happens within hours and purely surfacerust) Maybe your brakes are mailfunctioning and don't work at front or rearside? then and you must go to your dealer and have them fix it.

  4. You must be braking really hard then... I've been driving my car everyday and the rust is still there...

  5. There is a current thread over on Prius Chat that asks the CVT question, so if you want more details you could have a read through over there. The Auris HSD uses the same power train as the Gen 3 Prius so it is all relevent information; in summary the car is driven by a petrol engine and two electric motors linked by a planetary gear set (referred to as the power split device). It is like a CVT to drive but is actually quite different in terms of internal workings. Toyota say the HV battery should last as long as the car and historically Prius Gen 2 & Gen 3 batteries have proven to be very reliable: as an owner of a new vehicle I don't think it should be of great concern to you. I would speculate dead hybrid (HV) battery = dead car because it is needed to spin up the petrol engine when starting off. I think I read a report from an owner who had a relatively new battery replaced under warranty - they took the car in after getting some warning lights but nothing more serious and that seems like a more realistic, if still unlikely, scenario.

  6. just throw this out to ye to see the interest, what I can get is 10% off if 6 or more people wanted to come off the Courses, prob the best are the platinum @ €420-10% and millennium @ €320-10%. Ive done this before and its savage, the best value and best craic of the 2 is the millennium which is the full day in the Mk.2. The Track itself is half-Tar half-Gravel with all the Corners off camber so it makes for full opposite lock, looking out the side window sideways action. The Cars have 150bhp which is more than enough on the tight track and the instructors are dead sound and encourage you to push it on. It’s based just outside Monaghan Town, which is not a bad Town for a bit of craic, so an overnight stay and a few Pints is a must. We can book this well in advance so peeps can save up for it, so let me know.

  8. Morning BarryIQ, Macabeus is right, that was the same advice my local garage gave me. You do have to be pretty heavy handed with the brakes, I find it best if I'm coming off the motorway late at night best, nobody about, so you can really plant your foot, does get rid of most of the rust, plus not sure if you're getting a squeaking noise, but it will sort that too. Hope that helps.
