  1. I have got a 57 plate T180 diesel tourer bought from new, i and my wife went to view the newer like for like model on its launch into the showroom. Even though from the cockpit it looks bigger and the rear load area is much bigger, we both gave it a thumbs down, our 57 plate came with sat nav as standard, the most off putting thing about the new avensis was the electronic hand brake as we had heard of other problems from other makes about them and the cost of repairs if they go wrong "and they do" reading some threads on here proves this point. My vehicles still drives as new and our main dealer has bent over backwards on the few problems we have encountered, we would still like to own a landcruiser again however that would be the only other vehicle we would consider buying in the future if we changed our vehicle but at the moment our T180 is a perfect vehicle and meets all our needs, and i really do feel it may be our last motor, you can keep the electronic hand brake and any other gizmo's as we feel they are just an unexpected waste of money and not been tested well enough to prove there worth.

  3. Hi Kingo, I have done a bit of googling around and it does seem it is a CVT problem (the symptoms are very much the same as those reported on Nissan Murano forums). More precisely, those two error codes correspond to Solenoid Valve DS1 and Solenoid Valve DS2 malfunctions. Those are the valves that control the amount of fluid flowing into the primary pulley (shift up control) and the amount of fluid flowing from the primary pulley (shift down control) respectively. I managed to dig this info out from K111 CVT description (RAV4 is supposed to be using K111 CVT). The same material does not list solenoid valve DS1 and DS2 as serviceable components! I still have not heard from the dealer yet, but so far it looks like the transmission will have to be changed... Cheers, /R

  4. Seamaster mate, for someone who still hasn't got their gen3, you seem to be knocking it a fair bit?? I know I'm biased having had a Gen2 as well as other Toyota's for 25 years, but I do think you should wait till you get yours before you find fault...

  5. So if I understand the thread correctly iOS 5 (in Betas I think at present) allows the track, album and artist info to appear on the screen in the Prius when steaming Bluetooth audio? My trusty HTC HD2 MS Windows phone does that now which I think somewhat negates the argument that Apple are doing anything special to enhance the Prius head unit when it already supports track, artist and album data using windows software. It sounds more like apple are playing catch up to me but then I have never been an apple fan.
