  2. I knew it would happen sooner or later if I wasn't careful!!! Reversing into the drive this evening, I clipped the gate pillar with the passenger door mirror, and cleaved it off of the mount. There were bits flying everywhere. The only things that didn't explode was the mirror glass and the built-in indicator. The rest is toast!!! Anyone know the rough cost of a complete left-hand door mirror assembly for a MK III Prius from Mr Toyota?

  6. Another driver knocked the mirror off aprevious Gen 2 Prius I owned. The driver of the other car came round a bend on my side of the road took my mirror off but did not stop. I was not aware at the time that if you report an incident to an insurance company it automatically goes down as a claim. I never claimed as it was cheaper to have the repair done by Toyota and not lose my no claim bonus. I seem to recall it was about £200 for the complete job.

  7. The new Avensis is coming out in a couple months yet there's no hybrid option; http://www.toyota.co.uk/new-cars/avensis/newavensis Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't Toyota going to hybridise their range on a rolling basis and when the 'old' Avensis came out about 2009 they said it wasn't possible to offer a hybrid option due to design restrictions but the next version would have one. It appears the next version doesn't have. I'm curious why not as even Ford have a hybrid option on their new Mondeo and 1 in 4 Toyotas are a hybrid too.

  8. Isn't fitting a bra a bit like leaving the polythene on your seats? It'll be good for the next owner.

  9. What is good to drive for one person isn't always the same for another and then factor in that all cars can have their quirks despite being the same spec. You really need to drive one of each and then start your quest for a purchase.

  11. Well - the mechanic wobbled a bit on the diagnostic of MAF. While he says he is 80% certain a new MAF would fix the problem he couldn't guarantee it. Its recently cost me £700 mainly on wear and tear items and I can't keep throwing money at it so I'm trading it in as a car with a unconfirmed MAF fault.
