  1. Hello Aygos. I am normally on the Avensis team as that is what i drive, however my 17 year old son bless him has just started taking his driving lessons with a driving school, and we are thinking what to get as a learner vehicle but also his first vehicle. Just to add my son works for our local Toyota dealership completing his apprenticeship and knows a lot about Toyotas, and we have only ever been Toyota fans. The reason for my posting, are the Aygo's any good? And what reg and specs are best to go for? Finally are there any known issues? Any sort of help or advice would be most appreciated guys and girls. Thank you Sammy 🎀

  2. An MOT looks at whether a car is legally roadworthy. A car with a head gasket issue could pass the emissions part of the MOT, so having a valid MOT doesn't prove the issue wasn't there when the MOT was done. As regards consumer law, see - http://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act

  3. The "bong" on the Yaris' satnav doesn't just indicate the location of static speed cameras (of all types) but also the known locations used by police for mobile camera installations also. So you may well hear a "bong" by a location that appears to have nothing there... The speed camera warning is "live" all the time, even when you are not actively using the satnav itself (as you have already found out for the speed warning).

  5. Guys...I really appreciate all the input on my topic, thom1983...i have never been a fan of various treatments available. Although i may consider a cocktail to flush my egr if available..possibly the turbo too. konrad c...love your shock and coil over ideas...sadly ive grown past those mods...but i totally agree that it is possible that i have simply accustomed to the vehicle, have checked my seat position and it is still up as high it goes. I think for me its all the constant short runs and heavy loads that make me feel as if i am ruining our motor!

  6. you are in a very strong position as you haven't taken delivery yet (so also hopefully haven't yet paid in full). You can check what works or not before you take delivery & pay. If it doesn't work & you made it a condition of the sale ... Tbh I would go with Ethanedwards solution & go with a Garmin or Tomtom rather than the Toyota satnav upgrade (unless they do it for a stupidly low price). The hardware will be more current & the map upgrades will be cheaper or even free.
