  1. So - after The Grand Tour audience laughed haughtily at the Prius I decided to shoot a second film about WHY I LIKE IT! Hope you agree, like it, smile, laugh, sniff or any other exclamations.

  2. I have the same issue with my new Auris Hybrid. The normal calibration does not help. This procedure solve my problem: First make sure you have got engine started, apply the parking brake, depress the brake pedal and the gear is in P position. 1. Operate the light control switch within 5 seconds with the IPA main switch assembly pressed and held: Off=>Tail=>Off=>Tail=>Off=>Tail=>Off=>Tail=>Off=>Tail. -Check that "WRITE ZERO-POINT OF STEERING ANGLE" is displayed on the multi-information display and the No. 2 clearance warning buzzer sounds at 0.15-second intervals. 2. Check that the steering wheel is centered (approximately +/- 5 degrees or less) and then press the IPA main switch. -Check that "WRITE MAXIMUM STEERING ANGLE" is displayed on the multi-information display, the No.2 clearance warning buzzer sounds at 0.075-second intervals and the steering angle neutral point is memorized. 3. Turn the steering wheel to the left and right lock positions and press the IPA main switch. -Check that "END OF ADJUSTMENT" is displayed on the multi-information display, the No. 1 clearance warning buzzer sounds for 1 second after the No. 2 clearance warning buzzer stops sounding and initialization is completed.

  3. This screen popped up on my Prius today. Didn't know it did that! Hadn't spotted this in the manual anywhere.

  4. If a car is involved in an official DVSA recall, any letters would come from Toyota GB, using owner information provided by DVLA, rather than the dealer. Sometimes the information held by DVLA is not up to date for a variety of reasons and not necessarily down to DVLA. So if in doubt contact Toyota GB directly, mention that the recall checker is showing your car is affected by this recall, but you haven't had any written notification.

  5. Another letter from Toyota has arrived yesterday. This time they called for a driver's door window switch needs replacement as could become very hot. Been going to the garage more often than to a petrol station 😂

  6. 15" wheels can not be fitted to the higher spec Auris because of the brake discs size! Only down to 16" and best is to stick to Genuine Toyota Wheels. For the insurance I wouldn't bother too.

  7. The camera is fitted at the top of the windscreen behind the rear view mirror looking out of the windscreen, the message is a bit over specific, what the message actually means is the camera cannot see clearly out of the windscreen causes for this are: Dirty windscreen, Blocked camera sight, Ice or snow build up, low sunlight on the horizon however the single biggest issue is condensation/fogging on the inside of the windscreen and to this end Toyota have issued a repair bulletin which adds a heater unit around the TSS camera, redesigned the camera housing to improve ventilation and updated the operating software. Contact your local dealer and get the modification carried out

  8. 225/45 x 17 , 205/55 x 16 and 195/65 x 15 are very similar in terms of wheel radius, so none of them is altering speedometer accuracy.

  9. I had the 17 inch wheels on mine as well but successfully had 16s fitted. I bought a genuine Toyota set of 16 inch wheels that are fitted to the Auris and did a straight swap. No problems. Didn't bother with insurance malarkey considering these are standard on the lower spec'd version of the Auris, so it's not technically an 'aftermarket' set of wheels as my car could have just as easily had them on at the factory Cost me £300 for a used (but unscratched) set on eBay. I then flogged mine on gumtree for slightly more.

  11. Hi all, Thought you might like to see some photos of our Rav. An R reg with only 107000 miles on the clock, we bought it locally from a small dealer as a stop gap until we could find a clean, tidy, RELIABLE Freelander TD4 replacement for the Freelander TD4 we had recently sold. The Rav has had a few owners but is immaculate inside and out and so endeared are we with it that we have now decided to forgo buying a Freelander and instead we will be running the Rav for the forseeable future. Being OAPs living on a limited budget, reliability, cost of ownership and the initial purchase cost are really important, and fingers crossed the Rav scores full marks on all of the aforementioned. We love the colour for a number of reasons some of which are: Easy to find in a packed car park as she sticks out like a sore thumb and its a very safe colour as other motorists and pedestrians can see you coming from a mile away. Cheers.
