  3. A mile, you use a car for a one mile journey? Unless there's a very good reason, such as disability or you live on a mountain, walking must be the best option. I wouldn't even consider getting my push-bike out for one mile. Have you also considered the reduction in longevity the engine will have from not warming up each journey, apart from the harm you're doing to the environment?

  4. I've never had any long term success with those FM Transmitter things. What I ended up doing was sourcing a cheap Sony head unit for my Corolla. At the moment it works, but it was a stop gap solution really as I want to get hold of either a Kenwood or Pioneer head unit and kit the car out with matching speakers. But yeah, you're better off replacing the head unit to be honest. Would be quicker and cheaper and would sound much better.

  5. Nope..... Tape player is running/selectable (radio crackles) but not a sound comes out on 'tape'. FF/RW also working. I have tried an ordinary tape too... OK... Dash front off & head binning/swap for Stick capable unit. Search fleebay for 'socket/plug adaptor' so I wont have to carve up the power/lighting/speaker loom 2sav

  6. First, pull out the center piece by grabbing the edges and pulling towards you... Disconnect the two wire connections and set this piece aside... Remove the head unit housing by pulling from the back, it will pop off with a small amount of force... There are four 10mm bolts holding the head unit in place, remove all four bolts... Then simply remove the head unit. Installation is the opposite of removal.
