  1. Another way to clean/ operate the rear brakes is to reverse quite fast in a safe area and brake. This way the weight of the car is transferred to the rear and the rear brakes will apply harder. Also Regen braking does not work in reverse as far as I know. HTH

  2. Thanks. I have bitten the bullet and had it repaired by Toyota! They are going to totally respray my car in a couple of weeks so at least I’ll have peace of mind about the bodywork. I am quite impressed that they have taken responsibility for this without any hassle. Enjoy your iq they really are a lot of fun. Pauline

  3. Yes, but on Avensis. Noise I don't really consider an issue as I don't consider it worse than driving with an open window without . Tbh I buy them for sitting with engine off with windows cracked slightly open for ventilation/preventing condensation but without rain dripping onto the ledge. The view issue I do agree with depending upon what level of tint your deflectors are. The ones on my last Avensis were the Toyota oem ones & were clear & 2x as wide as the typical 3rd party ones. When I got my latest, Climair are supposed to do clear ones for the Avensis but I couldn't find anybody in the UK with stock & carriage from the continent was high - I ended up lucking into a pair (only really wanted fronts or I would have just bought the Toyota oem set @ £100+) of semi-tinted Climairs on Amazon for £15 or it probably would have been Hekos (generally 2/3 price of Climair).

  4. I had a problem with my Gen 4 12V battery too, and in the end the dealer replaced it. I keep an eye on it with this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-USB-Charger-Car-Cigarette-Lighter-Socket-Power-Digital-Voltmeter-Thermometer/282786775448?epid=791786015&hash=item41d767c198:g:1YAAAOSwSQFaQ2d6 If I put it in the rear cigar lighter socket and put the car in ACC mode, I can see the voltage. By comparing the reading when just parked after driving for a while, with a reading when the car has stood unused for a day or two, and then watch to see if the reading drops while leaving the car in ACC for several minutes, I can judge whether I'm heading for further problems. In READY mode, it will show near 14V, 12-13 when just parked, and around 12V after a day or two. If it drops below 11, I will start to worry.

  6. Yes :) I had «Heko Team» deflectors on my 05 T Sport. You can drive under the rain with the window open, have some air in the car but not in the face.... But there are two problems, the lateral view and the noise.

  8. I forgot to mention before. I bought my Gen3 2 weeks ago, privately. The previous owner had rear discs and pads fitted mid Jan this year........ must have suffered corroded and/or seized rear discs. All my benefit.

  9. I had a look on MyToyota at my service history. My Prius is up for its second year services in March. Spotted this comment 'THE CUSTOMER HAS COMPLAINED'. So went to the Toyota centre to book the service and explained that I have not complained at any time and can he delete or edit the comment. I explained that it wouldn't look good for subsequent owners to see a comment like that. He went away, when he returned he explained that this was for Toyota recall items and Toyota send out the form with the term 'THE CUSTOMER HAS COMPLAINED' on it. There was nothing they could do about it. I repeated can't you delete it or amend the wording. No - was the answer. Has anybody else got this on their service history? If the Prius had a recall and Toyota used this wording, then I am sure mine would not be the only one saying the customer had complained. And can anybody tell me what the REPLACEMENT COM refers to?

  10. I know why it has been done, but can't comment on the reason it was done A Dealer (Toyota or otherwise) is not allowed to actively seek out warranty work, any warranty work has to be reported as a fault by the customer, hence the phrase used. If I was to hazard a guess, I reckon they use a warranty code, which drops that wording into any warranty work line on the invoice. An unfortunate use of the term me thinks Kingo

  11. Also, you could try putting the car in neutral, when its safe to do so as thats stops regen braking, then try some braking as Catlover suggests. Once you have done that a few times put the car back into drive and carry on your way

  12. Hi Serg. Ok well I wish you the best of luck with it all mate, In my experience you will spend a great deal of time on time wasters. But let us know how you go on and don't forget I want the drivers side quarter if you give up and decide to sell separates. Bob
