  1. I know there must be a more eloquent of doing this, but I've listed screenshots from my Carista App showing the options available on my 2016 Gen 4 Prius. You probably already know that you get a month's free trial when you buy the Carista unit so you do have some time to tweak for free. However, as I've just discovered, it appears that the trial starts from when you first connect the app to the unit and not (as I thought) from when you make your first tweak. Hope this is useful.

  2. Hi All I collected my New Aygo on Thursday after trying to spend 12 months with a 17 year old Ford Puma! Anyway I always use the DAB radio in the wife's Toyota's and was looking forward to planet rock being listened to daily in my car, After collecting the car I tried to tune the DAB but could only find 7 stations!!! I have messed and mauled about with it since Thursday and was on the point of booking the car in for Toyota to sort when I found the solution. What you have to do is tune it to one of the 7 stations then turn the menu knob and it then displays the numerous stations in that group, for example I could only find BBC Radio 1, you tune it to that then when you turn the menu knob it displays Radio 2,3,4 etc. I'm now very happy with the new car and look forward to driving it daily whilst rock music and adverts fill the air! Hope this helps as the owners manual is useless and nobody else seems to have had this issue on the forums!

  3. Hi Euan, Yes that's a bad sign. Indicative of combustion bypassing the piston rings. It may be that one of them is stuck and an engine flush may free it, but no guarantees. Worth a try though bearing in mind the alternative. Of course someone here may think of something I've missed. Regards Ian

  4. Yes - surprisingly good quality leather and very supportive. Which was pleasant surprise because I hadn't actually been able to view an Aygo with leather before I placed my order. They also add a certain extra zing to the already potent "new car smell" !!! I guess time will tell how well they wear. As I said in my first post .I think the roof is a bit flimsy and the fabric not the best (again I didn't see a fun roof "in the flesh" before ordering so took a flyer.) But it must be reasonably durable as I couldn't find any particular issues reported on the various forums with the roof ( Toyota/Citroen/Peugeot) . My concern is probably misplaced. I was surprised to find the roof as delivered was not particularly well proofed against the wet. Some Autoglym Protector and the water now beads and rolls off rather than " wetting" the fabric. One final " upgrade" I didn't notice at first . The tailgate Aygo badge is now on the left not the right!

  5. Hi Euan, Have you checked for excessive blowby? If you idle the car and carefully lift the oil cap you'll find out. Some egress of blowby is normal but if there is a huge bellow then something is up with the sealing of the piston rings in the engine. That would be a likely cause of the problem you're seeing. Regards Ian

  7. i just have to basic white, i have cut the bubble off and there was no rust under it so i primed and painted it and the bits i cant get to i sprayed grease in those areas, i have been luck with the hot weather and it has dried a treat you wont see anything inside the camera hole unless you use a torch or a flash of a camera, once i waxed it down the surface rust vanished and normal paint is left (exept from the bubble), there is just spots on the metal that the rust comes from and it is either covered in paint or grease now i have no water ingress into the boot or boot lid and the drain holes are good i have said in the past there is not enough paint in the unseen areas of these cars and the prices they charge for "extra colours" even though they are solid not metalic you would have thought they could spray it a bit thicker so it allows the high points from the spot welds etc not to come through the paint and have surface rust that needs removing and covering in white grease i dont really want to take this to the dealers to be messed about like i was with the chain tensioner and i have a really great body and paint guy round the corner if i need anything that extreme in the future

  8. I only use the face level vents (pointing up) when I have the air-con on, the theory being that the hottest air is at the roof and I want to get rid of that first and the cooler air will sink eventually. People don't seem to understand heating and ventilation systems. I know of one driver who directs hot air to the face level vents and fries your eyeballs, while your feet freeze. I've been with them when they've directed the air-con to demist on a humid day and wondered why they kept having to use the wipers to clear the condensation from the outside of the screen.
