  1. Thanks for the battery info Mike, thought 16 years was a long time? said to them the battery will be under the 5 year warranty and they came out with 16 years, either way happy well as long them batteries last well.

  2. The hybrid battery warranty is five years/100,000 miles. However, the hybrid battery warranty can be extended for 1 year/10,000 miles when a Hybrid Electric Service is carried out, and this may be done up to the car's 15th anniversary of first registration. Toyota dealer said get 16 year warranty on the hybrid batteries! so good long term keeper unless Toyota turn my head in a few years πŸ™ˆdealer said the GRMN are all sold out, was going to try and upload some pictures if they had one in, the payments would have been silly money and the MPG, maybe if that lotto win comes in πŸ˜‚

  10. Goodness knows. In order for me to press the button ............... let alone find the damned thing .................. I have to kneel down outside the car. No doubt I could press it whilst sitting in the driving seat, but not actually seeing it or knowing exactly where it is, it's not easy. Mick. PS: The USB port on ours is next to the cigar lighter socket, just below the heating and ventilation controls.

  11. Nice one Eddie "that's well worth a high five πŸ™" You should pop along to one of our Sprint events for a look see and maybe through it round the track one day put that finally tuned suspension to the test 😁

  12. Difficult to find. Underneath the trim above the pedals. Flimsy bracket with a small plunger button. Make sure your tyre pressures are correct, then switch on the ignition and press and hold the button to reset and re-learn. Mick.

  13. Ant182 see what you mean looked at one today picking it up on fri 😁 PCP but first 3 years zero interest and got £9000 for my 2017 1.5 Icon Tec, cheaper tax and MPG should be great too 😁

  14. Tesco fuel the problem? Seeing as the original post was quoting 30mpg, then the most recent post stated 40mpg using Tesco fuel, that implies Tesco fuel is doing ok. A friend of mine was a tanker driver supplying fuel to petrol stations and he says supermarket fuel deliveries were the same as he delivered elsewhere.

  15. What each service covers is detailed at the following - https://www.toyota.co.uk/owners/service-mot-maintenance/servicing The first service is Intermediate.

  16. With respect Glenn, that's what you should have done first. I did ask that on 24th Dec. Never totally rely on what should have been done during a service. They should have checked the wheel nuts torque during the service anyway. Checking tyre condition and pressures is part of what any car owner shoud be doing regularly along with other rourine checks of fluid levels. Buy yourself a pressure gauge rather than rely on Tesco.

  17. Toyota's electronics manage the battery charging to maximise life. When we see it as 'full' it really isn't. Similarly, it is never allowed to get near being properly 'empty' even when the battery graphic says it is. There is therefore no need to do any battery 'management' yourself, nor any need to worry about charging it fully and driving til it is empty. I'm surprised to hear Tesla doesn't have a similar system in place. That said, even with automatic management, the PHV battery will degrade slowly over time. I think there's something in the manual which suggests this is likely to manifest as reduced range, but not reduced performance. However, at what point any such range reduction will become noticeable above the daily impact on range of temperature and road conditions, is uncertain. The cars are all too new to have any meaningful data on this.

  18. Check the charcoal canister according to the manufacturer's specifications. A common problem with them is the leakage of one of the three ports. it is a plastic lid with a port and this lid is glued to the rest of the canister. A sponge with glue is used which eventually fails. It can be removed easily and glued with a better glue for plastics. The canister is on the passenger side of the engine bay, just behind the headlights assembly. A hose is connected to this port from the throttle body housing which is under engine vacuum, thereby drawing air into the engine. Because the Mass air flow sensor is located just after the air filter, this extra air drawn into the engine is not measured. The result is a lean air to fuel mixture with the adverse effects on engine life, overheating in the combustion chambers, pre ignition and poor fuel economy. Regards, Chris.

  19. Just manually alter the fan speed to its lowest setting when cold. That will turn the blower fan on (and also enable the A/C if ambient conditions are suitable). That will 100% over ride the Auto setting. Also manually set the desired airflow direction.
